i was looking at some info on jobe Bellingham the other day - Sunderland bought him for 1.25m! He’s now worth 20odd mil. Let that sink in for a minute…

He can’t play for more than two clubs in one season, so no, they cant

He can if the club he’s going to is in a different cycle for their season. That’s why he’s being linked with the MLS as their new season starts in Feb.

Yet had it not be for his last name, his value would be half of that.

Funny how some signings work out. At the time I thought Edouard looked like a solid addition given our injuries up front and Ayew was a complete waste. As it turns out it’s probably been the other way round.

Don't tell the Ayew haters that.

Got to be up there as one of the worse value for money loan signings in Premier league history.

Still below Ryan Bertrand though

Why did you think that?

He'd been crap for Palace last season and reading Palace fans online they were all saying the same that he was useless and lazy

Well he’d showed he could score goals from his time at Celtic, was 6’2” so offered something we didn’t have in the squad, bit of pace, it was the very end of the transfer window, we were skint, he’d played 100 Prem games so no bedding in period (and no doubt many subs) scoring 20 goals and we had a fit Vardy or a completely unproven Cannon. Not a world beater at all but knew the league and was at a good age to have something to prove. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but on paper I thought he’d be better than he’s turned out to be.

Reminiscent of when Bolton used to take all our garbage. We've become Bolton.

I was always sceptical because the negativity at crystal palace , but hopeful as he good at Celtic and might want to prove himself. Does not look like that !

I guess the only positive thing you can say is he is backup ,Vardy first choice and Daka second have remained fit. At the time both  had injury issues, and it's lucky We didn't have any more.

Do you have to re-register the squad in January as most clubs have new signings? If so, whilst it would be a waste of money, could they tell him he's not going to be registered and suggest he asks Palace to find him another club. Worst case scenario we pay for someone who can't play, but as he's never in the matchday squad, what's the difference?

Is that the problem then? No one told him where Seagrave is?

It would explain a lot!

We have a loan contract. If we dont register him, we still contractually obliged to pay for him even though we can't play him because he is registered.

Yes, that's what I'm suggesting. As he's never in the match day squad, then still paying him whether registered on not makes no difference. I appreciate he wouldn't be able to be called upon is Vardy or Daka were injured, but from what I've seen of him, I'd rather use Ayew as a centre forward ahead of him, if required.

I don’t actually think that’s true. It’s the same stuff that was spouted about Kasper.

A young footballer who’s proving to be too good for the championship always gets valued around that price.  Fans might have more of a hype for him but I actually think he’s going to be a very good footballer in his own right.

He can’t play for anyone else here. He’s already played for two clubs.  Hence some links in the states.
