Cov

A Cov accent is basically a Leicester accent (but naturally shitter). And that accent was definitely not a Leicester accent.

A bit of a side note, but it’s sad how people from all over the country are losing their accents. Most people below the age of 25 sound like Monga did just then imo.

You could very easily say

“Here’s your contract for the day you are eligible, and this will be your signing on fee, which is X PLUS the equivalent of £20k per week wage + bonuses for the last two years”

Trouble there is you give him terms in writing that he (his team/agent) can tout around for a season looking for better, then when it comes to signing it'll be renegotiated anyway.

Most? No they don’t.

Not comparing Monga to him, or anyone really, but just whilst it's being  discussed about the young kids playing these days, there was a stat being talked about the other night on TV that's blew me away about this Lamine Yamal lad.

Apparently, Messi made his proper footie debut at 17 years old.

At exactly the same age as Messi made that debut Yamal has made 101 appearances and scored or assisted in 56 goals.

That's just nuts!

Imo as a younger person, most people I’ve spoken to across the UK speak with elements of a South London (as someone on here suggested)/ Black British accent. You hear the same slang all over the place, less local slang. I think regional accents still exist, but they’re blending with this newer style. People on social media, musicians, etc have all started speaking like it.

Very few white under 25s I’ve met have MLE accents but admittedly I don’t know many people from inner city areas.

The more game time Monga gets the more likely he’s gonna do something special in the game and it will become headline news. He’s already being watched by Barca, PSG & Man City. He has the lot this kid and the potential to be another Jamin Lamal of course long way to go yet. That young man is scoring and assisting for fun at the elite level!  Certainly way ahead of his time.

watching Monga reminds me of Mahrez but on steroids. He’s much faster. Footwork is mesmerizing. IQ next level.

Emile Smith Rowe always speaks how I never expected him to.

I can't really say much more about it without being accused of some sort of a racist tone but to look at him you'd think he'd sound like a Patrick Bamford........ but he really doesn't!

ESR’s name makes him sound posh but he speaks like the young lads who used to hang around in groups outside Stockwell tube station when I lived in the area a few years ago.

Exactly what I was trying to say.

He looks like he went to private school but speaks like he possibly didn't go to school. (Said in jest lol)

He looked good today. Drop of the shoulders and direct running. 15 years old!

if he stays next season, he’s tearing the championship to bits.

He is the future.

Ironic that one era ends and a new one pretty much begins. How long the 'new' era lasts though is the million dollar question...

I think that's a misconception with double-barrelled surnames though. It actually infers the opposite (stereotypically speaking)

Yeah, we'll beat that out of him over the next 12 months. He's not staying in this side with that mindset.

Naturally a little wary at times today re: challenges, but not surprising when those are coming from battle-hardened opponents at least 10 years older than you! On the ball he looked really good, and smart with his driving runs. Was so hoping he'd get through that cloud of pink shirts when he was dancing in centrally, but wasn't to be.

Really hope we hold on to him. A year in the Championship with regular game time will do him the world of good for his development.

Fatawu, McAteer, Mavididi, Monga, Alves.

Would love us to have those five to choose from on the wings next season.
