I know it's Bulgaria but we were pretty impressive and got a few decent goals. Price and Shea Charles were the standout performers.

Cult hero Josh Magennis came off the bench to slam a powered toe poked effort off the bar and in.

I've a vested interest in how the Bulgarian keeper did. I saw his OG, please tell me the rest of the goals were unstoppable....

The 1st goal his defence let him down more than anything else, he didn't have much of a chance for the last 2 goals.

First time NI have scored 5 in a game since 1995!

All the withdrawals, across the nations, making it all a farce. People getting caps who would never be close. Appears Kane has called it out as well, which is interesting.

Fair play to Kane. He's absolutely right this time. If these players don't want to play for the national team they need to withdraw themselves permanently. Nations League is like the clubs European Conference League, why do they participate in that one then?

This massive withdrawal must be investigated because it's obvious the relevant clubs have initiated it.

That said, a 7-0 tomorrow for Greece will be a suitable result. Come on Greece.

However hard I try as an England fan, I just cba with the Nations League bollux.

Just bring back the home internationals if we need some competitive friendlies.

What's your definition of competitive friendlies? The same 5 nations playing  against each other with the odd visit by Argentina, Brazil and maybe South Korea or Japan? So the same primadonnas would rather play a friendly against a top team risking an injury because of the higher intensity of the game?

How many times have England invited Greece for a friendly in 80 years? Zero. Greek fans of football were eager to see all these world class players, there's a sold out there for weeks now and we're sending a B-Team or whatever. Imo this is unacceptable and disrespectful no matter the importance of the game and tournament.

Fair play to them for dropping out.

Find Kane's take of International football being more important than club football an odd one. I'm sure Bayern who are paying him £20m a year are happy to hear that lol

There is far too much International football as there is, this is the third break already.  You could argue that  Kane has experienced more success with England than he has with his clubs, so perhaps not surprising that he holds that view.

Kane is off the mark with his comments. It's shame to see players pulling out, especially fringe players like Branthwaite and Colwill who would have had more of a chance of starting. But Kane's insistence that players should push through to play for their country regardless off physical state is why he's been crap in recent tournaments. He's run himself into the ground. You don't need to have a declared injury to need a rest. As a sportsman and someone with very clever people at his club advising him you'd think he'd know that. If Saka for example feels like if he plays these two games he's likely to get injured due to tired muscles then he's very sensible to pull out. If Kane wants to continue to play every minute available then that's his decision but it won't do him much good because he'll either get injured or as we've seen be below par physically and put in below par displays.

That’s the reason isn’t it. Players play for their club because of the money, whereas international football is not about the money.

Not everyone gets the pride and privilege to play for their country. Just shows lack of interest and respect. Jack Grealish had spell when Southgate wouldn't select him, now hes being picked he decides to withdraw.

TBF I think some are injured aren't they?

TAA went off last week and Rice has a broken toe.

Yes 8 seems a lot though.

Have to ask why isn't Tuchel in change of these games - must be a contractual reason.

The nations league is important to many countries who see it has a back way to get into a major tournament or maybe win something but we tend to qualify automatically or aren't likely to win it then there is that who cares attitude here.

On this occasion it looks as though most of the pull outs are genuine. Or at least there is a valid reason. In the past players have withdrawn from loads of friendlies and expect to be called up for the big ones. Nearly always the same clubs too.

Hiw often do you see South Americans pull out of squads? I feel like it's rarely and they do lots of travelling too.

Nations league should be b international tournament, or only be players with 10 or less caps. Brings a different dynamic to it as players have an opportunity to impress.

Probably not feasible for the smaller nations of course with the smaller pool of players.

I don't blame Kane here at all.

If a manager picks him, he's selfish because he's not resting when he needs to. If he drops out of the squad to rest himself then he's a lazy rich football detached from reality and couldn't care less about playing for his country.

The guy can't win.

Kane never pulls out the squad, he's the complete opposite what we a few years back when most big 6 players would pull out of every friendly. But he should occasionally pull out, he needs to rest every now and then, his body will thank him for it. Don't think anyone would call him lazy. One of his big faults is playing through injury and tiredness, when there's option available and he's actually damaging the teams performance. Sometimes part of the patriotic element of representing your country is taking yourself out the equation if you aren't fit.

Fair enough. For me I guess it's more the managers call for me combined with the opinion of the club if it's nations league or friendlies. Either way looks like he isn't playing tonight.

Am personally going to watch it.

National pride etc.

I reckon it's going to be a good game. Sold out a week ago, it's going to feel like a tournament final for the Greeks and they have finally some quality players playing all over Europe for clubs in big leagues. Imo this would have been a great challenge for a Tuchel debut because it's going to have the intensity of a serious tournament game.

FA again has a different approach unless Tuchel requested in his contract to start later. Which might be a good move as this is a dangerous game for a debut.

He’s a serial loser on the pitch and has adopted the mentality that playing for your country is the be all and end all.

Im sure others that have pulled out over the years have tasted actually being part of clubs that win things and want more of that.

Nobody else can be arsed with this horrific format so don’t particularly blame the players for possibly feeling the same.
