I'm not convinced, not by a long chalk.

Every game seems to serve up one full half of the worst football I've ever seen.

We look terrible for long periods, and some of our best football has come when Cooper's been forced to change his system because we're getting absolutely battered.

On the one hand we have back to back wins, on the other we conceded two goals today against a Southampton team that had only managed 4 goals prior, carbon copies of each other and both attributable to Justin - who's weakness defensively has cost us many, many times already this season but who keeps being selected.

I will need a few more wins to be convinced.

Worst case scenario, individual efforts and the team taking into their own hands have edged us to where we are, but we regress to the mean and drop down the table.

Best case scenario, Cooper is somehow moulding us into a team that I hate watching but which somehow racks up enough points to make it to the end of the season the right side of the drop.

What I absolutely haven't got from this so far is 'Cooper In' - we're not playing good football, we're not looking comfortable in games, our signings are hit and miss, and the team doesn't look like it's clicking.

Yeah can we not lock this one this time please? :dunno:

As I said previously on the other thread, FT has become a bit of an echo-chamber on this subject, to the point that I often avoid it on matchdays now. There's valid criticism, then there's just vitriol which the conversation has often descended into.

There are ABSOLUTELY questions to be asked about the team selections and negative tactical choices, but credit has to be due when we can turn something like that around.

You also can't moan about team selections and then also get angry when he brings players on and they turn the game around. Everyone's talking about Abdul, but he would have been way less effective in the first half setup - Cooper changed the shape / formation when he came in which gave him free reign to run at tiring legs. That's good management and for all we know could have been the plan from the start - we couldn't vouch for being 2-0 down to two soft goals at the point though. He also finally dropped Ayew (who hasn't been nearly as bad as people here make out), brought him on to be the muscle that brings the wingers (like Abdul) into the game... and as ugly as it was, he's today's matchwinner. And a lot here were saying the starting line-up "looked good" - and it ended up being crap. He's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't in a lot of ways. That first goal in particular was nothing to do with how he was setting us up and everything to do with individuals switching off - Ndidi and VK in particular fast asleep.

I'm just bored of it, we all knew this season would be tough and lacking quality. We've got one of the few managers who would give us a chance with the PSR threat looming, transfers looking shaky, and our main playmaker gone. His choices have been questionable at times, but I've also seen good passages and halves of football in there too. That second half today - much like the first against Bournemouth - was very good.

Is he the answer long term? No. But he's got them playing for the shirt, we're scoring goals, and we've just nabbed back to back wins to put us five clear of relegation (avoiding which is the target this season, nothing more).

I won't be calling for his head. Criticising him, sure, he deserves that, but he's doing what he was brought here to do, by hook or crook.

I am taking it most fans are still getting home from the game or out in the lash because this is up there with the best plays on this forum for a long time - congrats ontario superb

The thing I most enjoy about football is when we score goals, who doesnt right?

Goal in every EPL game this season, only Arsenal and Man City have done the same.

12 goals scored, only the top 7 and Brentford have scored more.

We won because we have some quality especially in Fatawu, that is all. Nothing to do with cooper, I’m sure he was just spinning a wheel to see what subs to make and got lucky with Fatawu

Sure when it goes wrong he's an idiot who did the wrong thing, when he gets it right he just got lucky.

Maybe he did get lucky, I don't know. But the fact is the position we are in at this moment is probably as good as we could have hoped for under any manager, so chill out for now.

BBC interview has a stench of “bluffer” about it

his answer on Abdul not starting is utterly terrifying as it clearly shows he hasn’t a clue

BUT

I think our points total isn’t bad and back to back wins means I have to say “let the lucky welsh man have another roll of the dice”

You’re doing it all wrong. This is FoxesTalk where we don’t accept factual stats that have actually happened. Only stats that could or may happen are relevant and accepted.

No club is firing the manager of a newly promoted team that sit 14th & 6 points clear of relegation after only eight games played. He is doing the job that he was hired to do & his team selection is slowly improving . I feel a part of the problem is that Leicester fans seem to want some trendy hipster or a mysterious European instead of a down to earth Brit.

I'm Cooper in as long as we are avoiding the drop zone.

He 'pleasantly surprised' me in putting Fatuwu on earlier.

Perhaps he's now realising that he's vital to the attack.

Think he has been later in games when Cooper suspects some weary legs in the opposition defence.

I get the feeling that he is learning more & more about the team every week. I like that he seems prepared to adapt & modify the team as we move along.

His decision making has wound me up again and again but we are fickle as football fans. If we go on and absolutely thump Forest next week, he'll be serenaded on here. Lose that and he's facing the guillotine. There's no inbetween.

The very final benefit of doubt will be if he's learned anything from today's game and sticks Abdul and Ricky in that team. I can't see it at the moment but the wins have bought him time.

If Abdul doesn't start next game then I genuinely don't know what he's watching.
