What are your plans this year?

Stop in, watch Hootenanny, embarrass daughter by making her join in Auld Lang Syne, watch fireworks, bed.

Depends on what the other half is doing but I quite fancy doing a bit of travelling. Might get the train to Italy, visit some friends and maybe go to a game.

Christmas day in Shepshed this year with my partners lot. What dreams are made of.

Probably have a quick pint in the Horse on the way over.

NYE will probably be somewhere local around Coalville/Whitwick way. I'm up for a night out this year, done with staying in and falling sleep by 10.

Used to love Jools Holland until I found out it was pre-recorded. Ruined it for me for some reason lol

Ffs now it’s ruined for me.

I genuinely can only apologise for this.

A few people made me feel silly that I didn't know it was recorded so I assumed I was the only one!

Will have the shittest work schedule of my adult life this year, only have Christmas day off so I won't be doing much. Other half wants to see her family boxing day so i'll have to drive to Stoke immediately after an 8 hour shift. Start work at 6 so will be the first year I can remember not seeing the new year in. Super.

Hope I've not derailed the thread BUT I will say, I do still watch the Hootenanny every year and I still enjoy it despite that. Getting slowly boozed in, at home with the family and listening to some good 'live' tunes is always a highlight of my NYE.

Apparently me saving up all my leave and booking off pretty much the entirety of December last year to get drunk "put too much strain on the department"

So I've been forced into only taking a few days. Where's their Christmas spirit?

So NYE is always a non event for me and the family. It is my disabled son Ashtons birthday on NYD. So we never get drunk NYE. We instead watch the hootenanny, which i have just told Ashton isnt done live, he is now destroying the house in devastation......

Obviously i jest lol. We literally do nothing, just another night where we tend to go sleep as normal ready for birthday celebrations

First proper Xmas with my son (he was only a few days old last year!) so will be nice to celebrate that. And my own birthday of course.

Heading to Bristol to the in-laws and family for a couple of days in between. Then seeing in the new year back home with my parents round ours.

Off work til the 7th Jan which will be a good opportunity to get some down time (with a 1yr old kid, ha!)
