I like The Wheel, but I have noticed that McIntyre finds an excuse to sit next to the pretty young lady of the week once per episode.

Game of Thrones.

From S1-6, an absolute masterpiece in writing & pacing. Threading long, arching narratives and character development together with so many "main" characters had never been done so well.

Then they shit all over its legacy with terrible creative and technical decisions in the 7th, and in particularly the final season. The writing went from some of the best in TV to some of the very worst.

The last season felt like the longest "Previously on...." sequence in television history. The pacing was all over the place, with about 5 seasons condensed into one. Long established, years-long plot threads that were just left unresolved or seemingly forgotten about. Entire narratives just completely collapsed and character arcs dropped in favour of plot expediency. They'd spent a decade hyping these moments (The Night King) only for them to fizzle out in the most underwhelming way.

The best case study of how to utterly destroy a beloved TV show. As you can tell, I'm still annoyed about it.

The Walking Dead also went to shit.

New travel programme with Sue Perkins. Absolutely awful.

Never really understood the hype about her, tbh.

This in particular was pathetic. Literally the culmination of all season including the first couple of minutes of the first season ruined in a ridiculously stupid way in a ridiculously stupid episode. Don't even remember what happened after that.

Also agree on the Walking Dead. A show that went stale multiple times, albeit briefly redeemed imo by the Whisperers relatively late on. Apparently, it was initially meant to be shorter seasons with more budget per episode until AMC got overly involved in the creative process and made it 16 episode seasons - which is a shame.

Most travel programmes

I used to like them but you are basically watching rich famous people get paid to go on holiday.

Especially the ones with their sons or daughters tagging along.

I find the Michael Palin travel programmes good, always more information and history than just messing around.

I have recently finished it for the second time.

The writing in S7/S8 is, as you say, awful. A lot of hugely disappointing climaxes which had taken seasons building up.

However - there was less pressure in the actual story when i was watching the second time, and actually I think it's better on second viewing. Some fantastic episodes (from a production & "action" perspective) in S7/S8 if you can look past the naff writing & disappointing ending.

Starting forcing friendships too - early ones such as The Trip worked because it was literal best mates

What's wrong with The Wheel?

Mcintyre is nowhere near as much of a creep as Ben Shepherd on Tipping Point. Always going in for those awkward hugs, and especially with the women.

MOTD the way its going, rumours of Roman Kemp will just finish it for me. Most irritating guy on tv... got on thanks to daddy.

I'm a celeb, loved it once but it's been going stale for years.

Coronation Street, never known far fetched soap... well okay Eastenders maybe. But how can one street have so many affairs and murders... barely recognise anyone on it now. Not watched in ten years. Gets more stupid every year, with it's strange storylines. Won't be long till bring a time travel story line.. it's getting that daft.
