Moyes is the obvious candidate.

Bags of experience, has done well at similar sized clubs. When it goes well for him he stays for a decent stint which is what we need.

Goes back to that thing about "do managers make a difference?" Look at West Ham since Moyes left. Look at us without Enzo. And no-one will convince me that Everton side stays in this league without Dyche.

Moyes may not be pretty to watch sometimes but the players buy into what he wants and he never gets relegated.. Getting a side that contained Antonio up top and Dawson & the cat kicker at the back not only into Europe but winning it is an incredible achievement. He'd need a decent budget in January but without a points deduction hanging over us that budget goes further. And even if the plan is ugly football, at least there's a plan.

Whoever we get I can guarantee that half of the fans will hate him within 10 games whether we play the ‘proper’ way (ie. Potter) or the defensive way (ie. Moyes).

Because it’s seems like the country and the world our fans have split into two unrecognisable groups and will never be happy (even if we’re being successful ie. Enzo).

Nah I was never having cooper. I could get behind RVN (something fresh) or Moyes (bastard with a decent defence)

Just anything but Forest legend ugly fooker Cooper. The players need a structure and he clearly didn’t have any

Yeah most likely. But Ricardo is out for months, so we won't see him till March at the earliest.

Moyes does not play attractive football, but a 4231 that is defensively robust and good on the break probably keeps us up. Moyes has developed players like Bowen and Rice over the years too and improved them.

I think Moyes would improve a number of players in the team actually, simplifiying their jobs and making them strong at core principles. I think he'd improve Kristiansen, Okoli, Justin, Ndidi, maybe even Mavididi, who would probably be our Bowen. He's the type I can see dropping Faes due to his antics. Winks probably won't like him, but as with Rice and even Arteta (as a player) back at Everton, he's managed to get creative players doing OK under him.

But just so everyone is clear, I am not a fan of the turgid stuff he plays. It's boring. But right now if we were a boring midtable team, that would be a massive upgrade on where we are.

Don’t care. Play him 😂

yep completely agree with everything.

At the moment I think our defence is a lost cause whoever plays. I'd rather see us try and get something from the attack.

Would Moyes offer that? Really not sure. A lot of experience but, I don't know, just doesn't seem to fit what we need.

True but going on European tour is entertaining for the fans. The West Ham fans I saw in the channel tunnel coming back from their Lyon (I think) game when we had played PSV looked tired but happy. I'm not a fan of Moyes but he isn't without merits. A 3 year project would be good but I would venture that keeping us up should be the main focus. Most managers of teams outside the top 6 have to have some pragmatism because their players are usually up against players of an equivalent standard or better. Sometimes if you want entertainment guaranteed you have to go to see a musical.

So you accept that football should be entertaining, but then suggest i go and watch a musical to be entertained? Got to be honest, I’d prefer to watch a good footy match than a musical anyway but each to their own. All I’m saying is Moyes does not entertain. Wham fans were sick of it. One obscure cup in a LONG career of pragmatic football at relatively big clubs isn’t enough. What’s the point of appointing a manager that might keep us up but isn’t a long term solution. Why not recruit a manager that might keep us up but who also might have a longer term project as well?

Shame we've fallen to a point that Mourinho isn't really realistic. Not even bothered about the slow motion car crash, I'd just love to see the dressing room chaos that would unfold.

Give it til Christmas before he's publicly accusing Wout Faes of having brains made out of sawdust

Am sure if we offered him enough money he’d come here. Some might not consider the Turkish league to be “prestigious” enough for him

Moyes clearly good manager but will we warm to the football. Probably can get the best out of our players. Probably not long term manager.

Potter did really great at Brighton, some say not so well at Chelsea but I didn't think he was that bad there. Do we have the players for his style without investment and with that element of risk. Probably one for the long term at the cost of short term.
