My issue with Potter are we are relying on his form at Brighton. In Tony Bloom he was working for the best football judge on the planet. A man who’s constantly helped sign players even Cooper has got a tune out of ! Potter isn’t the best manager Brighton have had recently. The Bloom factor is huge. Top and Rudkin is an harder ask.

I’m no itk but I don’t think it’ll be any of the main 3 already mentioned - Moyes, Potter and RVN. Just my opinion.

Well that would be exciting if Mourinho or Knutsen rocks up on Thursday arvo!

Looking at our squad - it is weakish, yes ... but definitely underperformed. With some of the questions lifted after our court win ... we must be an intriguing prospect, especially as a non-6 team with trophies and multiple European appearances in the last decade.

I am looking forward to the new person (hope is a virtue, I have been told).

He did a great job in Norway as well. The only job hes struggled with is Chelsea but they demand instant results, i see him more of a long term manager

There was a time when Potters stock was still rising despite being perpetually on the golf course. But I kind of feel he's gone over the top now. And has a lot to once again prove.

If he isn't biting our hands off. Then I'd walk away. As he is a long way from being the Messiah all this flirting suggests!!!

If they did sack Cooper without having a replacement lined up it smacks of the 'ready, fire, aim' approach this club has had in recent years. Long term it just doesn't work.

Re. Potter, didn't we pull the plug on it previously because we got fed up of him wanting to make his mind up and the costs were too expensive?

If so, why would he then want the role now after we stopped talks? Feels like it's a case of him getting it out in the open that he wouldn't be interested, even though he's not on our shortlist so other clubs don't think even Leicester don't want him?

I don't get the club putting out there they didn't have someone lined up as makes them look even sillier unless it's a deliberate ploy for some reason - maybe they want to maximise the net and want foreign managers to come forward they may have not considered before?

I am sure the club said the same regards not having a definite replacement signed up when they sacked Puel and pretty sure Brendan was through the door within the week.

players due back in tomorrow, also bear in mind there was not even a ripple that Cooper was gone until the official announcement yesterday afternoon so nothing to say we aren’t a long way down the line hence why certain people are now distancing themselves from the job as we are closing in on our preferred option.

I would imagine a lot of the hard yards was done over the last couple of weeks and when it has been widely reported on social media and on here that we have been approaching and sounding out potential replacements.

Wouldn’t be shocked if our man is announced by some point tomorrow or Wednesday.

Mourinho would be such a Vichai type signing, going for a big name.

Mourinho is in post at Fenerbache cannot see us paying his release clause, if it is a big name that Top is after can see it being Sarri or Mancini (both have managed in the premier league before).
