Happy to give RVN a chance, he is very new to management so its difficult to be 100% one way or another on him, it's certainly a risk but I don't think it's destined to fail, Enzo failed at Parma...

If Top is taking more direct control I would see that as the main positive, we've all said the issue is at board level and if he's showing signs of being a more involved and serious owner rather than a nice guy who just sees this as a bit of a side interest that's great to see.

Has to be Moyes or Potter for me all others available are unproven or a gamble, it needs to be right this time. Someone with experience gets 28 points out this group of players from now till end of season.

Was just reading about his tactics and formations set up at PSV and thought he’d actually quite suit our available playing squad!

I agree.

Not using full backs for width but the wingers.  Good, given the players we have in those positions.

Forcing teams to play out wide and then overloading defensively in those areas.  Again, this surely must be an improvement, as we have been shipping a lot of goals down the right hand side particularly as Justin pushes up and space behind is exposed.

Building with structured play and using the CDM to trigger the opposition press before releasing the ball - sounds an ideal role for metronome Winks.

Having a plan, any sort of plan.

I'd prefer Potter and possibly Corberan but I'd take RVN over Moyes.

Gobsmacked to learn that top sacked him having done no prep work to hire a replacement.  This is our constant mistake.... doesnt rudkin ppintvthis out?

We don't know that he hasn't, it only happened 3 days ago! Even if initial approaches had been made, formal contracts can be long winded things.

This lad has been pretty much on the money with info regarding Cooper. So if his contact is right looks like it will be RVN and announced by tomorrow and rising tensions with Rudkin and Whelan.

Great atmosphere by the sounds of it then...God help anyone that comes in.

I'm happy with Ruud, if he can play a style the players buy into, we've got a tight group of lad which I think is massively important in the fight!

Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for Rudkin and Whelan. I've been critical of Top but it sounds like he's finally growing some balls

Might struggle with a capacity of 32,000. 30,000 of which supporters will be too busy with either their clappers or prawn sandwiches 🥪

Slight doubt for me on RvN. His time at PSV doesn’t show up great to the seasons either side

Similar to Schmidt's the year before in winning their FA Cup and Charity Shield. Same league position but Schmidt did get 5 more points.

RvN was fortunate to have Simons for a year but was mugged off with them selling Gakpo and Madueke and not appropriately replacing them.

I think there's enough there to take a chance on him.

There's more substance behind RvN than there was behind Enzo when we appointed him imo.

He got Man Utd going from passive to high press in days.... you have to say that's quite encouraging.

Of course could be new manager impact, but I was definitely encouraged by what was shown in those games he took charge of. I imagine if anything a lot of United fans felt a bit flat on Sunday after a lot of that energy had dissapeared!

Ruud could be a good fit, my only question mark, is his experience which is lacking at this level managerially. But in the grand scheme of things look he has played football at the highest level, has also managed PSV and Manchester United as a caretaker. His football philosophy is aligned with Top’s in possession based football with attacking intent all in all it would be a solid with a slight risk appointment, but one we should go for.

Just have to hope he's forgotten everything ETH taught him in the meantime.
