Got serious reservations about RvN. Just asked AI to predict our starting 11 under him given our squad and his style of play and he’s only gonna put Ward in goal. May need sacking before he’s recruited!

Has to be Moyes or Potter for me all others available are unproven or a gamble, it needs to be right this time. Someone with experience gets 28 points out this group of players from now till end of season.

I can see that in Moyes but I don't understand the love in by some for Potter?

Yes, a fairly decent one club job at Brighton but he had a good chairman and recruitment team behind him. His team had trouble scoring also too down to his tactics and it took their next manager to kick them on.

He was embarrassing at Chelsea, admittedly a very tough job, but made some bizarre team selections combined with questionable tactics if I remember rightly. Got his knickers in a right twist and was well out of his depth. Only he and sections of the media ever believed he could be an England manager because the FA certainly weren't having him! Not that I rate them either 🤣.

Moyes, whether you'd chose him or not you can understand his credentials and West Ham aren't exactly on fire without him.

RVN a wild card who did a good job at PSV and allegedly the United players took to him also, but it's a hell of an ask with his experience in our situation. However, as a player, he'd surely get some initial respect from our bunch and that at the moment is in short supply. After Maresca, Cooper must have come across as a tactical pygmy and complete and utter dunderhead!

I like Carrick also but, like Corberan, are we likely or able to pay compensation if we couldn't before for whatever reasons, notwithstanding that Cooper and his team will need paying off now also?

Would any of these even want to come in our situation?  For me it boils down to Moyes and RVN.

If I recall correctly, the compensation quoted for Corberan in the summer was over £4m which ruled him out due to PSR. I've now seen it reported elsewhere at around £2m. Might make the situation more palatable if true.

Is this van Nistelrooy chatter based on anything btw?

Wants to walk straight back into managing, turned down Hamburg yesterday, Top wanted him in the summer.

If I lay here

If I just lay here

Would you lie with me

And just forget the Ruud

That's a bit emotional for me mate, do you have anything more upbeat? Maybe a play on words for Robbie Williams 2006 smash hit "Rudebox"?

Really hope it’s Coberan. RVN would be, potentially, a disastrous appointment, they might have battered us over two games, but in the first game it was their 1st team against our reserves (who’d struggle in league one), and their goals came mainly from moments of individual brilliance and laughable errors on our part - other than that, they looked all over the place.

West Brom fans want rid of Corberan though...

The fact he's pelted us twice within about a week probably adds brownie points as well

Could be said about almost all managers. There is an element of risk with every appointment tbf

RVN would be Top's choice, and probably signals the end of Rudkin as DOF which is happy days!

Maybe we have lined up a new DOF? Edwin Van Der Sar?

What makes Corberan less disastrous? Don't get me wrong I'm not against him but we've just writ off a guy for his track record and then people are buzzing over one who's not achieved much at all apart from doing well on a small budget. The few Baggies I know have said their main issue this season has been scoring goals and if they aren't getting a tune out of Maja their pretty toothless.

As I say I'm not against Corberan but I haven't seen anything that would make me want us to commit everything to bring him in.

So far, Dawson has only been confirmed to take training, not placed in interim charge, further suggesting the club’s intentions to have a new manager in position before the end of the week.

The latest Skybet odds on the next permanent manager at the King Power Stadium…

David Moyes 6/4; Graham Potter 2/1; Ruud van Nistelrooy 2/1; Carlos Corberan 11/2; Michael Carrick 10/1; Lee Carsley 25/1; Mark Robins 25/1; Gareth Southgate 33/1.

Graham Potter is not currently under consideration to replace sacked Steve Cooper as Leicester City manager, sources have told BBC Sport.

The former Brighton and Chelsea head coach and the club have not spoken since the summer, sources said.

Potter was close to joining the Foxes before they appointed Cooper to replace Enzo Maresca in June, following the Championship title-winning manager's move to Stamford Bridge.

Potter has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in April 2023 and held advanced talks with the Foxes, only to be unable to agree a deal, but is not currently in contention this time.

Leicester are not commenting publicly on their search for a new manager but sources have told BBC Sport they would like to make an appointment before Saturday's trip to Brentford.

However, there is a recognition they need to get the appointment correct and will wait if it means finding the right candidate.

Potter's representatives have declined to comment.

David Moyes is another out of work former Premier League manager who is not expected to be among the contenders for the job at the King Power Stadium.

Ruud van Nistelrooy, available after leaving Manchester United's coaching staff following the appointment of Ruben Amorim this month, and West Brom's Carlos Corberan have been linked.

You'll never guess who Van Der Sar's agent is....
