Or if target number 1 is Potter they didn't want the noise around his first game being Chelsea.

Hadn't thought about that

It's all adding up.

The thing l find most odd about the timing is if Top was going to do it, why now?

The Chelsea performance/ result couldn't have come as a shock, so why not sack him after the united game and before the international break?

Could the reason be that the man Top wanted (likely Potter) hadn't agreed at that point but did during or after the break?

I'm also guessing the player was Vards and the manager was the big man.. IF the "someone" is correct of course.

It seems the chat before hand and the meeting with the players after the game convinced Top to act.

Just spoken to someone who works very closely with the board. (FYI - I am not ITK and never claimed to be - person works on the corporate side with the ownership, not the club and just passing on what they’ve heard).

1. it was all Top’s decision. Chelsea was not a make or break game  - however, Top did attend the game (and arrived earlier due to conversations with a certain player he respects).

2. Top will head up recruitment - he never bought into Cooper and was quite disappointed with the appointment from day 1. This does not sound positive for Rudkin.

3. Club has a budget for January - for the first time in years, a representative from the ownership attended a recruitment meeting for the January window - the representative was not impressed with the target list (who presented that list was not clear).

4. Top wants a style and felt the club departed from that. He is also trying to be pragmatic. Top also speaks regularly (post relegation) to a certain ex manager who was very truthful post relegation. That ex manager has fed back his thoughts.

5. There is a candidate they want. Not a done deal yet.

Edit: wrote club when I meant board

All well and good but Top and his "representatives" haven't shown anything recently that suggests they're any more competent than those he's employed to undertake these roles.

As much as I don't want Rudkin et al running the day to day, I don't want an Owner doing this either. Bin off your current backroom setup, Top, and get a chief scout and DoF with a vision for the future.

There have been media reports suggesting that Top met with a number of players on Saturday and it is that meeting that sealed Cooper's fate. The players have apparently been just as confused/frustrated with Cooper's tactics as the fans have. Vardy's rant at the bench as he left the pitch on Saturday would also seem to back that up.

I hope it's Potter.

Feel there are better coaches but we've wanted him for 2 years now, it's time to make it happen. Think the players would respond really well to his level of detail and a counter attacking 3-4-3 suits our players.

    Faes Vestegaard Okoli

Justin Ndidi Winks Kristiansen

      Buonanotte  Mavididi

                    Vardy

I am pretty sure it was Top that appointed Enzo, so perhaps he is a bit more clued up than we give him credit for. What I will say is Mickys info is correct then it’s not looking good for Rudkin, if Top does run the recruitment process and is determined to secure Potter then highly likely Rudders will be sacrificed as leverage to get the number 1 target.

Imagine if we got rid of Cooper and Rudkin in the same month, hired an actual DoF and Head Coach combo with some common ****ing sense.

What a Christmas present.

Don't do it to yourself. We've obviously been living in the darkest timeline for the last 3 years. We're getting Allardyce and Rudders is getting a lifetime contract.

I think we've had are eyes on him longer than that. I think When Rodger was linked to Arsenal in 2019 Potter would have been his replacement.

I was at the game and have seen a few people say vardy was going off on one but can't footage anywhere.... any lip readers have a clue what he said? 👀

Do you think it'll be a Wicker Man type sacrifice, because I'm not totally against that idea?

I imagine that all clubs, especially those like Leicester that are multi-million pound operations, would always have a managerial replacement more or less in place in case the current manager is a failure (and gets sacked) or does well (and gets poached).  Like Cloughie used to say, don´t sell a player until you´ve got his replacement ligned up.

I'd like to see this potential January recruiment list that people are allegedly spitting blood about.

I mean, how bad can the recruitment actually get.

Matt Targett types I imagine
