I'm going to need a better source than FI before I get excited I'm afraid...just saw on their page there's a pinned article about Vardy being in hot water by the FA over referee comments....GENUINELY the first I've heard of it so they're chatting hot air.

Apparently this is true! I’ve heard that in the tunnel before the Chelsea game, Vardy went to the referee and asked him how his mate Coote was! A complaint from Madley was filed against Vardy after the game

At 48, I still think he can get 10+ goals for us this season.

Just hope the new Manager can get the best out of him.

I have no idea what I would be supposed to feel if he scored in 12 consecutive games.

For some reason I can't really explain I feel like RVN would either be a huge success or total failure, nothing in between. Either we stroll to a top half finish and he leaves for a Champions League club in the summer or he fails to win a single game and gets sacked. My similarly unfounded suspicion about Corberan is that he would be right in the middle, solid but unspectacular.

Neither would blow me away exactly but needless to say I would be more optimistic about the rest of the season with either of them than with Cooper.

If so and it was said in a sarcastic way, I don't get why Vardz would even bother meddling. If it was sincere then obviously Madley is a soft-arse although knowing Vardy it deffo wasn't.

Fred Rutten and Andre Ooijer were his assistants - both also left PSV once that season finished

I don’t believe either of them are in jobs at the moment

I assume Fred is the one he fell out with given he took over as Caretaker?

Not sure as it seems like according to the below they were both “his men”, even though they both stayed for the rest of the season after RVN left

Responding to the news that both assistant coaches will be leaving the club, technical direct Earnest Stewart – who joined the club back in February – held a press conference and spoke about their importance to the coaching set up this season.

“Those are two important assistants, who we chose together,” he said. “They also came mainly from Ruud’s sleeve and we were very happy with them. If those two stop, it is a signal to talk about it. You start with that right away, because you look: who are the right people to assist Ruud.”

Well Vardy is in trouble for comments made before KO Saturday.

It's going to take a seriously strong individual to take on this squad as there seems to be a siege mentality between them all created by the bad feeling against Cooper. It's going to be someone who deserves and commands respect both by his footballing achievements and nouse.

Cooper had neither, blagged a living but got sussed out.

Pro’s for RVN:

- looks like someone who commands respect (deserves it with his playing career)

- will have knowledge of Dutch market

- will know from games against us that our defence needs major work

- knows a good striker when he sees one and can help improve Daka

- possible Man Utd links for future deals

- has experience of working way back from serious injury (fats 😭)

- driven and wants to succeed

- great beard and rollneck combo

Cons:

- limited PL managerial experience

- fell out with board at PSV

- would jump if a bigger job came up

- probably hates Vardy a bit (stole his record)

If there’s an appointment today or tomorrow (of someone not in work) then the delay since Sunday is merely a charade so the club can claim that they hadn’t sacked cooper because they’d found and agreed with his replacement.

This one feels a bit of a stretch.
