Good points , apparently two big managers turned us down and in guessing it was those two.

Moyes for sure turned us down. It was pretty obvious based on his recent appearance on the Rest Is Football podcast.

What is concerning, is he already looks like he is cutting a lonely figure on the touch line…. He needs his staff in to help him at the moment he is working with the old regime, and it clearly isn’t going to work. Have we even replaced anyone who left when Cooper did? Which would suggest we’re running lite in the coaching department…….

Hard to believe a manager (even a recently appointed one like Ruud) thinking "midfield, hey, let's stick with Skipp and Soumare, and not play Buonanotte". But the regime staff must surely be at fault here. Are they deliberately giving poor selection choices to Rvn? And that's before we get to the GK choice. Like others here, finding it hard to understand what is going on here.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed with what we've become. I know it's not Ruuds fault but I did think he'd get more out of the players than he has. I thought we'd see more effort and determination but I feel we're seeing less. We all said Cooper had lost the dressing room yet I'm not seeing anything from the players to suggest anything has changed. We can all argue whether we start Choudhury or Justin, Faes or Vestergaard, Coady or Okoli, Winks or Soumare, Ayew or Mavididi but to be honest I'm starting to come to the conclusion that they are all as equally crap as each other just in different ways

Spot on!

Thought this was Rudkin's job?

recruitment is the DoFs job but he's neglected it so much that he just rubber stamps whatever the manager wants, hence why we signed Kristensen and Souttar and both were sidelined completely within 6 months and a change of manager, then renewed Vestegaard for 3 years only for him to be completely sidelined again after another 4 months and a change of manager, and why with any luck we won't see Ayew or BDCR pollute the KP pitch again once RvN has his own squad to pick from.

I’m absolutely baffled that the club have moved for this appointment while sticking with Alcock and Dawson as well as Hughes.

It’s incredibly important in this day and age for a manager to have his staff with him.

Ruud literally has no one.

Wolves have already appointed 4 staff along with Vitor.

Southampton are set to announce an assistant, GK coach and fitness coach along with Juric.

Yet another example of the total stupidity, naivety and brainless operation we have with Susan, Rudders and Top.

Rudkin is probably agonising over severance pay trying to save a few thousand while handing out multiple year deals for Ayew, Choudhury and BDR. While putting major money down on the likes of Skipp.

An elite manager gets the best out of their players. When looking at the SAF teams of the 90’s and 00’s, they won what they did because they believed they were going to. Same could be said of some of Jose’s teams.

Matt Doherty is not a brilliant footballer yet yesterday he made the game look effortless. I would suggest that is down to the belief he had going into the game.

RVN needs to channel that. We looked timid and like a deer in the headlights yesterday. We need to play with belief if we are going to survive this season. The last thing we need is investment on players in January who then end up playing with the same fear - it’s exactly what happened when we were in this position last time.

The first half was a shit show and meant the game was probably done, but I'm disappointed there's wasn't some sort of early barrage or attack from us early second half. Get into them and see what happens. Who knows, they've been fragile, get it back to 1-3 and see if they start to worry. We gave them a very easy afternoon.

It's a new day and I should really have let it go by now and jumped back on the optimistic bus, but quite frankly I'm even more angry today than I was yesterday.

Reflecting on it I've not seen even the slightest indication he can have a positive impact on the squad. The appointment feels hollow, a figurehead without any presence.

On one hand this season is reminiscent of the infamous Martin Allen season, on the other I'm getting Paulo Sousa vibes.

I know it's harsh but I'd give him the next 3 games with a remit of a minimum of 3 points. Partly because you wouldn't want any new guy facing getting off to such a tough start but also if he fails, a new appointment has the transfer window.

This viewpoint is so out of character for me, I'm a big believer in stability, however there's too much at stake this season and we aren't out of it yet so the board may need to be ruthless to survive. The ramifications for getting it wrong are too big, the EFL will absolutely hammer us next season if we go down and at best we'll be looking at the lottery of the playoffs.

I actually quite likes what I saw, until the Danny Ward saga started!

(Admittedly I didn't see the first half against Newcastle.)

I feel once we get through this part RvN will be fine. I just hope he doesn't get too stubborn regards picking Danny Ward.

I believe it's good fortune to have a manager with a Manchester United background going into these upcoming matches against Liverpool and Manchester City.

The lack of staff thing is bizarre.

We sacked all of O'Neil's staff and the new manager has brought 5 people with him who he says are vital to his work.

And that's coming from a club trying to do it as cheap as chips and claims to have no money. So for Ruud not to bring anyone with him is odd to say the least. Maybe he burned his bridges at PSV when he left for Man Utd and he hasn't got a clue how to replace them.

He needs an experienced head with tactical nous on his coaching team quickly. He looks isolated and a tad clueless.

He needs to sort out our defensive organisation. Or a structure.

He needs to realise who's good/reasonable and who's substandard. No evidence of that to date.

He needs to instil some backbone into them.

So not a lot to sort. 🤔

In all seriousness, we can still finish above 3 teams. No reason why not if he gets to work properly.

So, you’d give him a minimum expectation of 3 points against Liverpool, Man City and Villa?

All those shouting Ruud out, would you really rather spend what little pot we have in funds to get rid of him rather than using it to bring in whatever we can get in the January to plug the obvious holes we have in the first team?

I guess yesterday you thought it was a typical hysterical fan overreaction when many posters predicted your easiest win of the season. Now you know, we knew ..... incredible,.isn't it? The fan in the stand knew

You know, seriously, I'd be on the blower to GON agent today. I liked him. He's a pro. I think he'd make a fist of a rescue job for us as he did for you and Bournemouth

That's how I feel and giving him 3 games is generous after yesterday

The man's a total fool in my eyes

I said this in so mamy words when RVN and Cooper joined, we have 16 or so very ordinary players, and it will take a tactical genius to use them to gain an advantage. They'd need to work twice as hard as the opposition, and therefore the subs bench would be well organised to we use it to it's fullest. We'd also need to be very smart in the window, that why I thought it was worth asking Rafa Benitez if he'd work with us, as he has experience and knowledge in all these parts and would probably know more about running a football club than Rudkin.

I received a comment that's it's not 2013

Fair points and it makes it even more imperative that our Manager gets the best or near best side out on to the pitch, that they are trained correctly, that tactics are fully communicated and understood, the team are motivated etc

What he did yesterday was complete and utter insanity

You just know what the process looked like was when cooper was sacked

1. Sacked with no succession plan

2. Arrange meeting following morning to discuss options

3. Spend 48 hours or so sorting through agent texts and emails touting their client

4. Narrow the list down to those they've heard of

5. Have an informal chat with Ruud's Moyes' , A N Other out of work manager's people.

6. Land on the one who ticks most boxes; fame, wages, CV, fan reaction

They'd be virtually zero discussion on his philosophy, his views on where we are going wrong, his views on our individual players, his battleplan, his coaching staff.
