Think he would have to be paid in this accounting period, but I genuinely think you might be right with the holiday stuff. I don’t remember the last time we made a big, boardroom level move in the late May-Early to Mid June period, maybe recency bias and someone can prove me wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's amateur stuff if true, business doesnt stop for a holiday, should only be the players

Today is the day that we have officially been relegated. So you are saying that you believe relegation clause kick in the minute it's mathematically confirmed? So Southampton players got paid less in April?

And yes, I believe teams who sack their manager straight away, prioritise getting a new manager in ASAP over the money they will lose.

A manager could potentially accept a lower pay out because he knows it’s inevitable he will get the lower pay out anyway. Leaving by mutual agreement earlier than being sacked gives more time to find a new club and possibly looks better on a CV?

I was unsure about this appointment, but I've been won over by that sweater.

What's your feelings now

And do you still like the sweater 😝😉

And will there be a goodbye video? 🫣

Still rate the sweater!

Sadly, the reservations I had before he signed were pretty much all borne out. To me, and probably most people on here, it was pretty clear he was not the right man for a relegation battle.

Can somebody with more football knowledge than I comment on whether there is precedent for the radio silence we've experienced this season?

How normal is it to be relegated and 6 weeks later know the square root of fook all regarding the future of the manager, the ownership's thoughts etc etc? While actions will always speak louder than words, doesn't it seem like common sense that even a token reference to even an ounce of accountability would provide a little reassurance?

I'm usually pretty laid back about club correspondence. I never really pay too much attention to manager interviews, for instance. But this radio silence during a time of crisis is irking. Doesn't sit well at all.

We did the same in 2017 and 2023; 2 and a half weeks since the end of the season until we found out what was happening and announced the manager situation.

It's pretty much par for the course for KPFC. There's no accountability, and they simply don't communicate to the fans. In fact, I'm convinced they actually hate us fans.

Ruud would be gone if he was being fired.

We’re keeping him, we can’t afford to sack him and the board will hope that it was just squad quality and unfortunate injuries that let to statistically our all time worst run of results, rather than Ruud’s incompetence.

I am sure if he was staying, it would have been confirmed and Ruud would be saying he has received the full backing of the club and things moving forward for the new season. All direct quotes from RvN continue to say he has had no feedback or direction from the club ahead of next season. Hardly points to him staying.

Are we alone in that? Do other sets of fans have to put up with this lack of transparency and direction?

From what I can tell, most owners give some indication of what's going on. I'm just trying to work out how unusual our experience is. Obviously we'd all like our owners to be a shining example of how to manage a football club and a community, but if somebody told me that our experience is not totally uncommon, it might ease my frustration a little. Wouldn't make it right, of course.

Deal done with Dyche,  signs contract 1st July. Sack Ruud same day. Preseason to start a few days later, all for PSR reasons and club doesn't want to say anything for legal reasons. That's all I can think.

That would still trigger a full accrual I believe.

It wouldn’t trigger the full accrual however we would need to have a clause in his contract and we would have to demonstrate  it wasn’t a discriminatory act otherwise we run the risk of potential constructive dismissal claim.

Garden leave would mean we would keep booking the monthly payments for PSR until dismissal was confirmed but I highly doubt we have genuine grounds to place RVN on garden leave.
