I wonder if Ruud will go after the West Ham game as it gives us 10 days before the next match to agree on an interim arrangement or potentially identify a replacement.

We'll sack him two days before the game that mathematically relegates is and wonder what went wrong.

With the squad we have, it’s a huge mountain to climb to stay in this league, a huge one. That’s the reality. Today it showed that when we make a couple of mistakes and we didn’t perform at our best, Brentford was too big a challenge for us.

“It’s not fair to have certain expectations. You cannot live up to them. You can only be the best you can be. We’ll see at the end if it’s enough or not. So far we’re in that bottom three for a while and every game we play, we almost face a better side than ourselves. Everything has to go right to get results and points and that’s the reality we’re in

No wonder they get pumped every week

He's not wrong though and maybe it'll be a reality check for these deluded players. I remember before Christmas someone, maybe Winks or someone equally as soft, saying that the group were looking up the table and not down, believing they were better than being coached in a pragmatic style etc etc.

Well now we don't have much of an option other than looking up the table because there's not much below us.

This week was the first time Ruud has said that the team isn't good enough. But I think the team selections and lack of risk taking has been an issue for some time and rather gives away the lack of belief in going toe to toe with other teams. Of course RVN and SC may have been right being cautious this season given the lack of pace and some quality throughout the team. However, from my angle I'd rather lose 5 2 than 4 0 and I'd like to see the whole squad given a chance. There is nothing more demoralising than going every week and maybe one change  or less in the starting 11.

The sad thing is, we aren't good enough. Ruud is right.

The other sad thing is that, as sh1te as he was, Cooper had this right when he was picking 3 defensive midfielders + Facundo. We looked awful, but the negativity kept us in games. We also had the joy of a period when Facundo was flying and Vardy was able to feed of this as well, and Mads was playing like a superhero. But at the time, many (including I) hated the negative team selection and the fact that we were scoring more than our XG but it was likely the only way of getting something out of us.

I still think we would be bottom 3 if Cooper was still here though.

Alternatively, part of the problem is we set up to try and go toe to toe with most sides. Look at Friday night - we're against a mid table side and we leave ourselves so open and try and go toe to toe with Brentford, but we're not going to get many (or any!?) points this season by outplaying the opposition.

We make no attempt to be hard to beat or to try and grind out results. But this is the problem with our squad. We don't have the attacking players to play basketball and win games 3-2 or whatever and we don't have the defensive players to play Cooper/Dyche ball and grind out results.

He is on course to get less points than Luton and Burnley last year he is averaging half a point a game.

We know we are not great but the squad is not worse than Luton’s

So is this him basically saying that we won't win another game, except perhaps Southampton at home? What an absolute shambles! He's basically saying the players aren't good enough, which we all know anyway, but any half decent manager thinks up ways to get the best out of the squad.

Playing a high line, constantly picking Faes, starting a front 3 that is a combined age of 103 are all on him, nothing to do with the players. He picks the team and he thinks up the tactics and neither are anywhere near good enough to enable us to win games.

Moyes has inherited a terrible squad but he's cracked on and worked out a way to get the best out of the players he has.

Maybe start by picking the best players like Buonanotte

He’s pretty much played the exact formation that didn’t really work under Cooper we may as well have stuck with him, now he’s saying we are not good enough .. why not try something else

Imagine a lower club facing a superior side in the cup and just saying we ain't good enough so not offer anything to get the squad up for the game. Just go through the motions and troop off after a dismal defeat. We should be approaching all these matches as cup ties and get the best out of the players and inspiring to beat the better team on the given day

Cheers Ruud, made me look a right fool claiming "oooo he's got an elite mentality". Get in the bin.

Also, when I was criticising Van Nistelrooy just weeks into his time here, you told me our results would improve once Hermansen is back from his injury :D

In all seriousness though, I was always sceptical and my posts reflect that. Awful appointment when we needed someone who had the experience of grinding out wins to keep a team up. That said, I did not expect us to go 6 home games without even scoring. It's a disgrace.

When I'm wrong I'm spectacularly wrong lol

I really thought he'd mix it up and find a way to grind out some wins, but if his attitude is "we don't have a chance" then we need him out the door asap, that's genuinely atrocious. Also explains why he can't be arsed trying to find a working formula. I still stand by my point that it was unfair to judge while he was missing a couple of key players that contributed to results earlier in the season. He's got them back now though and we're just as disgustingly bad.

I still think Cooper was awful and a major reason why this team would probably struggle to beat last season's team.

The annoying thing is, you wouldn't find anyone more skeptical about this appointment than me at the time it happened lol

Fair, but hate the flippant  mention of Cooper and Forest. Nothing to do with forest why he was let go, he was pants as is Ruud.

Daniel Story to be fair, 100% tree.

It's very annoying, I've got forest friends and family and every time it's a variation of "I can't believe you sacked him because he's ex forest we don't even care about you, stupid decision" etc. Having to explain to them that he was absolutely dog muck so much so players complained daily to Top was getting tiresome.

The positive side is now they've bottled "doing a leicester" they've gone quiet. Maybe if they weren't so obsessed with us and focused on the task at hand they wouldn't of bottled it....

Cooper might be shit

but he had experience keeping up a shit squad.

We got a manager that is basically telling the players, it’s ok to get thrashed every week because the opposition has more quality.
Maybe this Dutch bellend should watch a rerun of the league winning season when Claudio installed a fighting self belief into being the underdog.

Vardy told a member of staff after a defeat.. you didn't honestly expect us to beat this lot ..

So perhaps it's catching
