You cannot turn around this level of awful results and performances. Coaches need grace and leeway and he has none.

The last thing we need is a slow start next season. Maresca bought time with his. Van Nistelrooy hasn't got any plus the baggage of this season.

I was at seagrave this morning for work (I don't work at the club) and saw ruud leaving quite early. Caught a glimpse of his face and exchanged a glance with the guy I was there to see and he pretty much confirmed he'd gone, and he'd know with his job without being too specific protect the guy

To be honest,he’s always got a long face.

Reality is no decision to sack him will have taken place last night, when Cooper left it was announced around 4pm the following day after a lunch time kick off.

even if the decision has been made and relayed to him, there will be legal paperwork etc having to be drawn up, agreed and signed prior to any announcement, wouldn’t be shocked if there were to be announcement that it would be later this evening or even tomorrow.

Anyone who thinks RVN will turn this ship around in the Championship....what is the basis of your optimism? In other words, what do you see in him at all?

He was a success at Everton. He achieved exactly what he was brought in to achieve. He kept them in the league for two seasons running, and one of seasons they had 9 points deducted. They would have comfortably stayed up under him this season.

He'd taken them as far as he could and his football wasn't very inspiring but most Everton fans acknowledge that he did a decent job under difficult circumstances for the first year and a half at least, but it was right to move on.

I don't want him to be our manager, mainly because I'd like to see us promote some academy players and I'm not sure he would be as interested in that. However, I wouldn't be devastated if we appointed him. We would at least have a clear way of playing and we would have a team that applies itself under him. It's not much, but it's a start at least.

I’m not massively sure Everton’s aim was just to stay up, then struggle again the next season and then the next. Their squad is far far better than ours yet he did a good job of making look nearly as bad. Moyes has shown in a short space of time how much he was holding them back. He isn’t the answer.

Imagine Ruud goes and whoever comes in gets a tune out of this lot but we fall short....how stupid will the board look not to have made the decision weeks ago when we still had a chance....they're in a lose lose situation here

I don't think you need to worry about this.

You know what, I want something to look forward to and if that is the championship, so be it. Unfortunately, I can’t look forward to a thing while he remains. Ruud, if they are not pushing you, have some pride man, walk.

Surely he doesn’t enjoy going into work every Monday. Who would enjoy this.

When Dyche came in first season they were struggling, he kept them up at our expense, second season absorbed a hefty points deduction so achieved the aim of staying up, yes this season hasn't been great for him but they would have scraped enough to survive.

Moyes wasn't kept on at Westham  for probably the same reason Dyche was replaced by him at Everton, it went a bit stale, yes Moyes is now doing well with Everton but he didn't have to deal with half of what Dyche did, it turns out it was the right decision, for Everton, it could be for us, then you have Nuno with Wolves, Tottenham not doing too badly now with Forest

Dyche may be boring, old fashioned, unadventurous, defensive etc.etc.etc.

But one thing he isn't is stupid.

He wont come here.

It's no lose for him though if he somehow manages to keep us up he's a genius tactical magician, if we go down it's clearly not his fault, if he managed to get 1 win and score a few goals he would be seen as a success

He needs to stay until relegation is confirmed.

This is the definition of a football car crash. I want him publicly recognised as the driver.

This is gonna get worse. The real hammerings, the Sheffield United 8-0 results, are still to come. We hang this awful man out to dry. He deserves it.

We’re down. Don’t get me wrong, I know this.

But, you can’t tell me, that the board are looking at the results under Ruud, and they’re thinking “ok, we’re relegated, but Ruud is the man to take us back up” ! Its mental!

They should be changing the manager NOW for the following two reasons:

a) Get someone in to start their own planning for next season

2) absolutely nobody would be saying “I can’t believe that sacked Ruud. I thought he should’ve been given more time!”

He was obviously ****ed off because they are keeping him on . . . .

For the first two seasons it unquestionably was their aim to just stay in the league.

As I said, he wouldn't be my first choice, but I certainly don't think he'd be a disaster.

The sad part is, I still have that niggling thought in my head of "what if?"
What if we drop to the championship and he's able to bring in the players to play his system?
What if we drop to the championship and he's able to properly rebuild the backroom staff and scouting network?
What if we drop to the championship and he's able to properly drive standards at the club which clearly are lacking?

The championship as we saw last season is dog water standard compared to the premier league, I feel like the drop down in class would see us fighting for top 6  if Ruud stayed on, but I have absolutely zero evidence to suggest that is the case, Ruud is giving me nothing to feel excited or confident for, I can't really see what his tactics are trying to achieve apart from some pretty football in transition that inevitably breaks down the moment we step into the opponents final 3rd.

Hmm, just hope he never reads FT then! 😂

You didn't refer to him as the 'Dutchman'? Are you warming to him? 🤣
