DJ Barry Hammond Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Big call with Coady - he’s not been great either when he’s had minutes. I think many are being a little harsh on McAteer - I’m hoping he’ll surprise a few this evening. 3
brownfox Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Well that's a Ruud awakening!! Macateer over Mavadidi surprised like everyone on this one. Looking at the central midfield we really need to get a solid midfielder in there in January. I also want to see Coady put in a performance, he talks the talk but seen nothing since he signed from him. Fingers crossed, legs crossed, eyes crossed, everything crossed! heres to hopes and dreams we win, forgetting what it feels like.
LCFCJohn Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 (edited) Would have had Buanotte, BEK, Mav but apart from that probably the best options there. At least Faes is out! Edit might have liked to see Okoli alongside Vestergaard but perhaps he is not starting due to going off injured at the weekend. Good sign he is on the bench, I feel those two might compliment each other of the options we have. Edited 3 December 2024 by LCFCJohn
Death by Football Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 What’s the saying about silk purses and sow’s ears. There isn’t really an 11 that looks good on paper right now. what I hope is that they have been given clear instructions on what to do and they understand their roles and have the discipline to stick with it. 1
HybridFox Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Dropping Faes is a popular win in my books anyway 1

Molson Canadian Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Top needs to get the cheque book out for the January window. 2

Don't think we're getting anything from the other 4 games. Feels like this week is massive, two home games, then we have Wolves before Christmas. Also two big home games in January back to back against Fulham and Palace. Those 5 home games are virtual to any chance of survival. Unless we spend decent money in January and buy well, I think we will go down with a whimper. Edited 3 December 2024 by coolhandfox
Bordersfox Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 What has happened to Skipp? He looked decent in the first few games of the season, now he can't get in over Soumare. Okoli in for Coady as well when fully fit hopefullly. 1
James_lcfc Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Ndidi and Soumare starting in the middle? McAteer over Mavididi? …can someone get the Ruud out thread started early? Although he has dropped Faes so I take it all back! Legend!
sylofox Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Don't Ruud favour 442 ? So 442 defending and 424 attacking?
Trent Steel Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 whatever happens lets not be calling for Ruuds head after 1 match! 10 maybe yeah but come on lets give him a chance, i am looking forward to it anything is better than Steve Cooper
AjcW Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Don’t fancy us defending corners when fulkrug and Antonio inevitably come on late on!
shailen Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 He's gone for energy and physicality with that team. Then Facundo and Bilal for creativity. Simple formula, hopefully it works 4
jonny_wright Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 What has become clear, is that we have comfortably the worst defence, and probably the worst squad in the PL - we need 3/4 starters signing in January to give us even half a chance of survival
Analysethis Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Wow that team is horrid. I hope I am wrong but I can see Kudus and Bowen running rings around us. This is going to be Messi like Lionel! I`ll be tuning in for another Leicester miracle!

Skipp has looked bang average to me pretty much every time he has played and was the invisible man against Chelsea on his last outing. The team is the team, you can't say anybody on the bench is particularly unlucky to be there.

Simple formula, hopefully it works McAteer will be subbed after 55-60 mins and Mav will get a chance against a tired defence. Surprised BDCR hasnt been dropped entirely for Alves or someone from the youth team.

I personally feel that the more you get him out of position, the worse his positioning will be when the opposition transitions. Give him less responsibility and hope that it's fewer oppertunity to mess it up.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 We're desperate for 2 or 3 signings in January, team looks terrible with a couple of injuries. 2

I would not have paired ndidi with soumare either So assuming Choudhury at right back, which isn't really his position? Mavididi for McAteer? With you on that but assume it's for a bit of added defensive solidity. Possible that Okoli isn't fit enough to start and Faes has been comically bad, so even though it's a worrying lack of pace, Coady can't be any worse. We've lost Ricardo, Winks and Fatawu. 3 of our best players. Whatever lineup we pick is going to look crap at the moment. At least the trio of BEK, FB and JV looks much better than what we've been used to seeing.
whoareyaaa Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 He will soon realise 4 at the back is not the way forward
