Sell a player for 30m to pass psr

buy him back within six months and spread that over five years

they wouldn’t allow it.  Well they couldn’t stop it but we’d be charged and sanctioned unless we agreed to take the income off 23/24 psr

Would you like to share the relevant rule in the PL hand book?

I don't think there is anything they could do.

Similar to Villa selling Philogene to Wolves and then buying him back, other than being 6 months rather than 12

Wasn’t it hull?

Villa had a buy back clause in the original sale deal.  They also  undoubtedly bought him back for more than they sold him. (Though the original sale was undisclosed).  The sums involved are not as large as with KDH.  The premier league have publicly commented that they are monitoring the sales of academy players between clubs and will get involved if they believe that the sums are not justifiable and potentially being used to usurp PSR. (Even though we all know they are).    I can 100% guarantee that, given our current relationship with the authorities on PSR,  if we buy KDH back in jan for £25/£30m that we’ll be embarking on another legal case with the PL within months (unless we make adjustments in our 23/24 accounts to compensate).  they are waiting for us to screw up so they can clobber us.

But that wouldn't make any sense given we'd be buying him back for around what they paid, in which case the market value of the player was already set last summer and so buying him at that value doesn't constitute in any way an unjustifiable amount.

Brighton will come back in for him I reckon. They were the only ones that seemed genuinely interested in buying and actually using him.

Chelsea just bought him to please Enzo. But when he saw the difference between KDH and what they already he had, Kiernan no hope.

If he's still at Chelsea next summer, then I could see us maybe sticking in a big for him after Facundo goes back, but personally I'd see that as a massive downgrade myself.

The only one I'd like back that left in recent years would be Barnes.

Yes, it was Hull, sorry

They can monitor but you can't make rules up on the fly, or they would have challenged a load of deals this summer if they could.

I can't see how they can start legal proceedings unless we are in breach of a current rule.

Can’t see this happening.

Whilst it would be nice to welcome one of our own back, I can’t see him fitting in to our system.

The only position he could fit into is as a number 10 which would impact the roles of Bilal and Buenanotte. Would rather sign an out and out winger

Bilal and facundo do either side with him in the 10 - perfect

Can't loan him. Can't afford to buy him.

He was bought to boost their homegrown quota, and the Golding deal was a PSR fiddle.

He isn't the first, and won't be the last player who will have to work very hard to recover his career after an ill-advised move there.

I like KDH, but he's gone and we should move on.

"Football Insider sources" is Twitter Rumours thread fodder really isn't it.

It was only a matter of time before someone wrote this story without any basis just to fill some column inches because they think it makes sense.

I'd be livid if I was Ruud and Leicester did this. He doesn't play 8s at all, KDH doesn't have the positional discipline to play at 6 and both Facundo and Bilal are better 10s.

He's not coming back, we've got nowhere to put him.

Edit: for the record, the only reason I'm not merging this in to the Twitter Rumours thread is because I think this story will just keep coming back being repeated by every blog and tabloid going.

But please, please stop making new threads based on Football Insider.

If Facundo was to go back then it would be worth it ? maybe end of the season.

They're very different players. We wouldn't be playing KDH the same way we play FB.

Did well last year, but didn't make the difference the season we were relegated. Sad to say that i don't think he would make much difference now. Bilal and Facundo are providing the attacking quality, and we have Soumare / Winks / Skipp / Ndidi who can all rotate. Not sure a 6 month loan makes sense to me.

KDH one of our own but Bilal is that player now, with Skipp a similar option

Bilal yes (albeit in a completely different mould), but in what world is Skipp anything like either of those two? lol

no for me, I don't see where he plays, he's not defensively sound enough to be a 6 and not technically good enough to be the 10, I think we sold him at the perfect time

I don't think we've really seen enough of skipp but runs plenty, energetic and can pass a ball, he might not score goals but he's a box standard midfielder.

If we stay up then we should re-sign him. Good player, Leicester boy, what's not to like? Chelsea will want to cut their losses, for, say, £20m, he's objectively a good signing.

Can't see Brighton wanting him, they've got better. I'd sooner have Buonanotte or El Khanous than KDH. I really like him but if we're absolutely honest and ignore any emotionsl ties, he's had one good season under a particular manager in the Championship.

Does he improve the 11 - 100% yes - it’s not mega money either and I’d say we probably have it now we are in the new accounting year - every chance he would want to come back - and every chance we want him back - if a deal can be done who knows

No he doesn't.

He'd be one of the first names on the teamsheet if we lined up the same way we did last year, I'm not disputing that.

But we don't even play his natural position anymore and, I'm sorry, I think BEK is an upgrade as an actual 10 or an auxilary 10/11.

Completely agree on rather having Bilal and Facundo. I do think when Facundo returns in the summer if we stay up we will have a look at the option of bringing KDH back then, but personally I don't rate him as a premier league player myself. There's much better value out there.. look at Facundos loan for instance, I'd rather borrow again if we got that talent.. although it won't be him, he'll either star for them or be flogged to the highest bidder (chelsea)

I just think Brighton seemed to be very keen on him and apparently he almost went there, and they were keen in January too, so maybe they'll try one last time
