This is a must win. Absolutely essential. One of these two is going down.

More likely both going down.

I'm seeing people say this isn't a must win lol

Where do people expect us to actually win games, if we can't win what is arguably our 3rd or 4th easiest game all season? If you're saying this isn't "must win", you're saying you're happy with 2 or 3 wins all season.

I feel like this season is our worst midfield as far back as I can remember in the top division, almost every match we just get walked through.  Whilst even in previous seasons when we got promoted with no money, our midfield would at least have grit.

I actually think the Winks / Skipp / Wilf trio was a very decent PL midfield and from memory gave us very respectable performances v Villa and Palace.

But Cooper jettisoned the idea.

V Wolves, we have to avoid the fiasco at Newcastle and Brentford and actually play a third midfielder.

Our strongest available starting xi imo will be

Stolarcyk

JJ, Vesty, Okoli, VK

Skipp, Winks, Soumare

Buonnotte Bilal or Stephy

Daka (yes, absolutely ahead of Vards)

Ffs just keep us stable and solid and some pace up front to bother wolves (Vards simply hasnt got that pace anymore)

We'll surely lose to Liverpool, Man City and Villa.

We HAVE to win this.

Genuinely disagree. There’s an opportunity to take points there!

The writings on the wall that we lose this match. New manager bounce incoming and our lot looking like rabbits caught in headlights. Don't know why anyone thinks anything else is gonna happen here. We can live in hope but my expectation is that we are in the bottom 3 for Xmas. Probably where we belong TBH

So Stolarczyk played last night?

If Hermansen is out its a no brainer that a half match fit keeper is better than Ward right?

p.s half match fit for keeper just assumes not as sharp in between the sticks but Ward is like having a prize winner from the audience on goal.

Yes. Full 90 minutes.

Therefore our goalkeeper order of preference is

Mads

Stolarczyk

Filbert Fox

Someone from the shop

Someone from admin

The bloke from the burger van

Prize winner from the audience that isn't Ward.

Programme seller a possiblity .... bloke from the burger van will stink of onions   . Probably not a wise choice

Don’t worry, if he is banned then his replacement will be someone on debut or who hasn’t scored in 10 months and he will get the winner instead. There’s more than one way to Leicester it!

I'll be keeping a close eye on any teletext appeals :D

I’m gonna be honest, I’m a little disappointed not to get the nod over the bloke from the Burger Van.
Ruud I’m ready and available, if you could just organise the flights.

Ward plays in goal I'd be tempted to leave before kick off, pointless to try to win the game with him goal. We could score three, but he'd end up conceding four. Ward for is semi-retired, he was okay against a league two opposition where he's unlikely to face much but up against a fast paced higher up opposition he'd be out of his depth.

Never a top flight keeper, how Brendan Rodgers thought he would be good replacement for Kasper Schmeichel his beyond me. He'd only played like five games in the premier league in over 10 years. Spend most of the time either on bench or going out on brief loan spells to lower league clubs. To think he was given the number one shirt without playing many games is just bizarre.

Looks like 12 players in that line up to me!

Edit: misread it!

I'm absolutely convinced it was spite. Some kind of protest having been lied to about the summer transfer window.

Same as the opening game v Brentford with no subs in 25 degree heat. It was spite. I'm sure of it. No other explanation

Edit; further evidence he was selected through spite was after eye Chelsea game, Rodgers hinted that Ward had asked to be dropped. Said something about him 'being a very honest lad and very self critical'.

seem to remember him hooking KDH off when he had scored and was probably our best player against brentford at home. they came back to draw 2 - 2. same sort of goings on against southampton shortly after

I don't see how they could appeal the charge, but I suppose they might appeal the punishment if they think it's too harsh. Would any ban be suspended while the appeals process is taking place? I have no idea, personally...

This is what I meant.

In fairness you could dive from there and still get closer to the ball than Ward! If there's a corner or free kick, just before it's taken, put some music on and as the opposition kicks the ball, play musical statues!

I'm not anti burger van man ... would be ideal if he could bring the van and park it in the goalmouth... although the queues could cause a few problems and then there's the litter .... although there's enough players wandering around the pitch ball watching maybe they could litter pick instead
