I said it after the relegation season, I will never see him play for us again.

I cannot and will not be party to him representing us. He seems a nice enough lad and I do feel for him. But he in every sense isn't worthy of the shirt.

He should've had his contract paid up in full upon relegation and given beat wishes

The goals weren't necessarily his fault today but it couldn't be clearer it scared the living daylights out of the defence. Everyone lost all composure as soon as he came on! 3 of the back 4 saw what happened two seasons ago! Horror.

Agree..

The relegation season the players knew,.no matter how well they played, how tactically astute we were, how many battles they won....it was completely futile as we essentially didn't play a GK.

The oppo could shoot from any angle at any pace and probably score. It totally destroyed team morale

In fact, that same season I remember he came on as sub for Wales in the world cup when Hennessy was sent off and two minutes after his introduction, Wales' world cup was over. Neither Goal was directly his fault. Just routine shots he's unable to react to. And the outfield players know it.

Luck - we're already on more points than we probably deserve to be and this obviously is a benefit. We've had a hell of a lot go our way this season.

Southampton - and their persistence with Russell Martin.

Possibility that Van Nistelrooy is very good - he might be. Few red flags in that earlier but he's got benefit of the doubt for me at the minute. I'll judge him on how he reacts.

1. Not much between Southampton, Wolves, Ipswich, Everton, Crystal Palace and ourselves. Only three of us can get relegated.

2. Manchester Citys court case has finished with the results hopefully this year. If they are relegated, we’ll only need to be better than two of those other teams.

3. Hermansen, Vardy, Fatawu, Buonanotte, Winks, Ricardo and maybe even El Khannouss get into every other of those teams match day squad when fit. I’d argue they’d maybe even start games.

Ref your point 3

ricky is out for another couple months

fats is out for the season

Vards will surely get an injury at some point - he has last few seasons.
mads could be out for a few weeks

so although we may have players good enough to get into other teams starting line ups, we don’t have them available for us!

Man City won’t be relegated - PL aren’t turkeys voting for Xmas

everton will keep always keep enough clean sheets to stay up. Infact the biggest chance we have of them going down is if they sack off dyche when the new owners come in !

wolves need to pull the trigger fast on O’Neill.  Not because he’s a bad coach but because it’s clear there are big issues in that dressing room and they need to turn things around quickly.
palace - I think they’ll be ok. But then again, we had enough about us to stay up two years ago.

ipswich - I hope they don’t get another result soon cos if their confidence gets up then they have the spirit and desire to get out of the bottom 3.

tbf it could be back before the end of the season, mid april, all depends on him

Wolves are a massive mess on and off the field, they look like we did in the 22/23 season atm

Palace i dont think have lost in 7/8 could be wrong

Ipswich always seem to have that bit going for them, theyll never score a goal like they did for that 1st at Wolves yesterday

got to be realistic with it all, who honestly expected us to do anything against a Newcastle team at SJP, with over £300+mil plus of players after some dodgy results

then the fact the official misses the 2 bruno incidents

at times we look decent at times we look crap, atm i do believe we can stay up, from what ive seen from the first 2 home matches but rvn has had 2 weeks in charge; think the acid test is truly to come

We have got 3 tough games before half way, but so have the others. Beat Wolves and we should get to half way having never been in the zone.

The 3 reasons to be hopeful are the three below us.

He won’t be

ACL are usually min six months before you can begin proper training on the grass.  And even if the boy was a miracle healer, we’ve seen enough evidence that coming back from that type of injury isn’t straightforward

the quickest I can see a player coming back from an ACL is five months but that doesn’t then have them match fit for another few weeks.

The strongest area of our squad is central midfield (and Mads), which we weren’t able to get on the field for a lot of yesterday.

If we are able to make strong selections in most games in those areas I think we have a reasonable chance of staying up. Ndidi, Winks and Soumare have an engine about them, shield the defence, enable us to have control and work through the gears so to speak. I rate Bilal and Buonanotte, but we need that solid base that NWS give us.

I will be ridiculed for saying this, but I actually think Soumare will be integral this season. It’s a bonus that we are somehow are finally getting a tune out of him. But without him yesterday look what happened - the midfield did not assert themselves on the game, we got bullied and knocked around, and they weren’t able to support the defence or forwards. This what Soumare can do, if deployed well with others who suit his strengths.

I also just about think there are at least 3 worse teams than us, but the fight for not finishing 18th will be a close run thing.

We are better than the bottom three that’s clearly evident. Our season won’t be defined by losing 4-0 to Newcastle away it will be against those teams in the bottom 6.

There are three, maybe four, worse teams in the league.

RVN has more tactical identity and far superior game management skills to Cooper.

The January transfer window.

One of these reasons directly relies on Jon Rudkin, so you can cross that one out.

We cant based much on yesterday. I fell apart the moment i saw Ward warming up so god knows how the players felt, especially as we had a 3rd or 4th choice midfield.  By the 2nd half it was a weaker team than we served up in the Carabou cup.

Ruud will need time. A lot was undone in preseason. Newcastle were able to exploit us in a way i think most of the bottom half won't be able to. If we can get back to almost full strength i think we will see similar improvements we saw against West Ham and Brighton.

Mads is key, as is Jakub as backup. I hope Jakub is only weeks away from coming back. We can't have Ward anywhere near the posts.

Iversen is far better than Ward why was he not the back up?

I really don't know. We sit in H1 and always watch warm ups and my son (a GK) always points out how sharp Iversen looks. I can only presume that something behind the scenes has gone on (maybe he's guaranteed a move in Jan and simply cant be risked?).

Shite with his pins, but a great GK.

We'll stay up because of our passionate support and the intense, hostile atmosphere at the King Power.

I know this was said in jest , but i believe that once our crowd is fully behind the team , we will make a difference.
