Goalkeeper injuries?

“We’re assessing every day with Mads. Jakub is back and is fit and is available. We’ll make decisions.”

Justin?

“He’s a great professional with good qualities. He’s played some excellent games. I’m not worried about him. We all go through different spells of form, where the crowd starts to react towards you. It’s our job to deal with it with performances.”

lollol Good grief.

Surprisingly I'm a bit more optimistic about this game than I was for Wolves. Yes, we'll probably still lose, but surely RvN can't make the same selection mistakes?

I genuinely thought he wouldn't select Ward or make the same selection mistakes that Pooper made. Alas I was wrong.

Jakub is going to play. In a weird way he's going to be under a bit of pressure now.

He won't get a tougher match to make his return. Can only hope the inevitable avalanche of goals doesn't damage his confidence. Don't know what sort of character he is.

Yes, I don't know now why I was surprised too

For some reason I thought he had a lot more about him.

I'm extremely disillusioned with him because that was some shitshow

In some sadistic way it would probably be funnier to just start Ward anyway. Let him concede 9 in a game we’re going to lose heavily either way.

Plus by 8pm Boxing Day everyone will be too pissed and full of cheese to care

Speaks really well. Imagine a Cooper press conference in the same circumstances!

You reckon - I thought nearly every answer in that was absolute nonsense waffle - that interview worries me as much as post match one did on Sunday - I don’t even know where to start with that

If we disregard the individual errors it was a decent performance!

My god that statement is seriously worrying.

Insane - the more he talks the less I like him - I thought after West Ham he was talking sensibly about the performance- then we watch that absolute abomination Sunday and he comes out with that garbage - deary me

"the back line had one of their best games."

Sorry but that was truly shocking defensive performance. Pure incompetence at this level.

Idf he thinks that was a good performance minus the mistakes he's utterly deluded.

It was one of their best games this season. Now, lets be clear, that is like saying that Che Adams is the best striker Scotland have to offer (it's more a damning indictment of the alternatives), but it was one of their best games.

Think we need 3 in CM for this, plus CBs that can run. Given availability, I’d go for:

Jakub

Hamza

Faes

Okoli

VK (as Thomas is even worse)

Skipp (as there is nobody else)

Winks

Soumaré

Facundo

Daka (save Vards for games where we have a chance)

BEK

Just rest the key players. It's gonna be a disaster whoever we play so may as well give some a game off.

I'd also play ward as it would he harsh picking Jakub and chucking him into this game. Could absolutely destroy his confidence.

Statistically he’s right: fewest shots conceded so far. Score first in that game and anything could’ve happened.

Littered, I grant you, with horrendous individual mistakes.

So four games and out for you?

I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt for now. He has a poor squad with not a single Premier League defender (leaving Mads to one side) to rely on, and missing two crucial players in Ricardo & Fatawu.

I’m not sure a Tuchel-Slot-Guardiola coaching team could do that much with this shower. Recruitment has been one of the main issues since we won the FA Cup, arguably longer than that.

It’s possible we sneak an early freak goal in the first 5 minutes and then we just park the bus and defend for our lives and hope that Liverpool have a really off day which can happen on these Boxing Day fixtures after spending the day with the family and in-laws.

Or we get truly batterred and it’s 7-0 scorline.

As for RVN……I’m not remotely impressed with him or his ability to manage at this level and think Pearson would do a better job so bring back Nige I say ?
