As respected as John Percy is, he can only report on what he has been briefed by the club and his sources. I wouldn’t be shocked based on past history if we were briefing in the summer we  should be ok to try and minimise fan discontent, maximise season ticket sales and self preservation for Rudders, Whelan and Top, only to then significantly breach the rule when our accounts are submitted with the 3 of them looking vacantly on wondering how this could have happened whilst hoping Nick DiMarco pulls off another master stroke

Yep whether we are poorly run or not is one thing. PL officials leaking stuff to the press is a clear breach of sporting integrity and is outside interference. The club should take them to court.

My thoughts exactly. Any leaks about Man City  or are their brown envelopes thicker?

They still haven’t got over us winning the league. I think we all saw the comment about not wanting “another Leicester “ and they’ll make sure it doesn’t ever happen again.

If we are so confident and we've already had to send our accounts over why not just publish our sums now? I know we shouldn't have to but the burden then lies with them to prove we're wrong.

Some strong copium going on here.  We escaped the last deduction via a loophole with the PL's amateurishly worded rules rather than actually sorting ourselves out.  We were struggling to comply to these rules even when selling £50m+ players and actually finishing well in the league.  Now we've got the same squad, who keep getting new deals, and only the KDH money coming in.  Not sure why we're all adamant we'd comply and that this is just some smear campaign from the PL.

I think we're doing a very good job of this ourselves.

It's not their fault we pay Ward and Soumare £140K a week between them or that we spent £40m on Skipp and Okoli that don't play.

Yep.

Some did forecast this all..... cool hand if I remember right was one of the cautious ones like myself.

This PL against us stuff is utter nonsense - we've known the rules for a while now, we continually keep breaching or being very close to breaching. If we were clear and everything was fine, there would be no story.

Next season in the Championship be no better with a points deduction and serial budget cutting needed but at least there is likely to be some shift in opposition for away days etc to keep the interest going for another year.

Not necessarily City winning again but anyone outside the top 6

At the expense of all this "Whataboutery", I think we can be confident that our January transfers in will be at the sum of a Molla Wague plus Ryan Bennett level.

In this scenario it's easier to defend rather than put a target on your back.  Publishing any kind of numbers until necessary would be daft, it might even drive prices up of any targets we need to bring in during the window if it's well known we have money to spend.

At this point just let it all burn, tbh. Club needs a hard reset. All those ‘we were in league one’ muppet fans are going to get their wish for a good decade to come. Need to gut the crap players, staff, ridiculously high wage bill and become a home grown talent producing money ball club

It will all come down to wage bill, and how much we managed to reduce it by, did we have the reported relegation reduction in place etc.

Also how much we paid for promotion bonuses.

Our income will be pretty decent with selling Barnes and KDH, both home grown players at 100% profit.

I imagine a sticking point could be how much KP paid for sponsoring out shirts again, as I'm sure they will have put in a bumper figure.

Could be a agruement over fair value, however we were one of the club which voted for the changes to APT rules,.so we must be fair confident.

What the **** does the PM have to do with this? 😂

Peak Starmer Derangement Syndrome, that.

Nothing to do with it but he's just comparing two cretins.

So we will be told on 13th January, 2025 and meanwhile Man City are hanging on in there?

Can we join the SPL?

how's this become about captain brylcream?

this is the first period without the COVID allowances isn't it. The extra year without half the high earners like Tielemans, Maddison and Evans, plus all the sales should put us in a good position to have a small breach at most.

Notts Forest were punished under their rules and are currently 3rd?

They weren’t 3rd when punished. Why is it taking so long over a number of years to punish Man City? Chelsea got round the rules by giving 8 year contracts so costs spread over that time.
