Is it not deserved for it even being this close?

You can deservedly criticise the years which were -£90m each, but that's old news. There's nothing new to criticise until we see the numbers for 23/24.

I've been offline this morning and only just read the Percy article. Given how much comment it has generated, I was surprised at how little new information there was it. Percy clearly does not know whether we've breached or not - in fact he admits that the only people who know are the club and the PL. Given everything I've read over the past few days, my best guess is that our PSR loss for 2021/24 was somewhere between £83m and £105m, and the club and the FA are locked in a legal battle over which threshold should apply.

If the PL wins that argument and the limit applied is £83m, I reckon we'll argue that we deserve a lower points deduction than Forest and Everton received because our loss will be lower. The PL may want to make an example of us, but whether they're able to is another matter entirely, especially as the punishment is determined by an independent legal panel.

Much is said about the PL being pissed off with us for making them look stupid over the previous charge, but as you say, it’s supposed to be an independent panel deciding the punishment.  They surely can’t give us an excessive punishment just because they don’t like us.

From Ruud’s press conference:

PSR?

“It was a topic in the conversations before I signed. We’re clear on that. There’s no news on that. I’m focused on getting the right players in and winning.”

Club confident on PSR?

“I think it’s for the club to comment, but the conversations I had were clear and open. We’re on that page and that process. Nothing has changed.”

No they can't. If it turns out we've breached by a small amount and end up getting a relatively low points deduction, I've no doubt fans of other clubs will be screaming that we should have been hit harder because we 'got away with it last time'. But thankfully the outcome will be determined according to the rules, not according to the PL's feelings toward us.

When was this press conference?  Do you have a link to the whole thing?

It'll be on Leicester's official YouTube account in under an hour I'd imagine. Otherwise the main talking points will be on Leicester's Twitter account or BBC Radio Leicester's twitter.

An article that rehashed stuff and say nothing! Click bait!

It was always going to be a close run thing.

The PL can be as pissed as they like but they will have to stick to the rules they have wrote.

I don't see the childishness in it?

Perhaps childish is the wrong term. But it's just not something you'd normally see from someone who's supposed to be a seasoned/respected journalist working for a broadsheet. Tabloids, perhaps, as they thrive on reader comments, shares and outrage (bit like TalkSport).

Wouldn't see that at the end of a Henry Winter article, for example.

If Percy says it’s close it’s more likely we’re ****ed.

I have seen nothing but incompetence from Top and Rudkin over the last few years.

Just like we were quietly confident we didnt sign Silva 14 seconds too late?

Just like we were quietly confident we could be relegated under Bodgers?

The Percy article is damning. He’s the positive spin merchant and all we’ve got is it’s close (breached massively) and we’re only going after cheap fullbacks… deary me

Seems Ruud thinks all is well on the transfer front has Rudkin told him the news lol

If it's close, how can we have 'breached massively'?

Kieran Maguire has said basically the same as Percy on today’s Price of Football podcast - the financial “experts” all think we could be in breach but club is confident they haven’t, and could all depend on what PSR limit applies for 23/24 and/or whether we’ve pulled a financial rabbit out of the hat like Chelsea’s hotel sale.

The "financial experts" don't have 1/3 of the last three years finances.

There’s a link being made which I don’t quite get and it suggests to me the club aren’t that confident about their actual accounts rather they are confident of De Marco getting the job done again.

A lot of these articles say LCFC don’t have much room to do transfers this January due to FFP yet the supposed charge is nothing to do with this January window. Rather the success of this window dictates if FFP will be a problem in the three year window including this season going forward because of allowable losses etc.

The only link I can see is how you might persuade players to join a club likely to receive a points deduction (even in the interim).

But ultimately at this time right now the FFP decision next week should not have any bearing on how we operate in January. Unless of course, they rightly ****ed the budget for this year (or they have confidence in the T3 loophole). So something amiss or not quite in sync
