Felt he was always likely to leave. But if the Monga wonga means we are less likely to have to sell the likes of Page, Aluko or Nelson even, for example, then I’m at peace with it.

I agree.

 

He's definitely a talent, but also a ' flair player' in a position we do have more experience players fulfilling.

 

Whilst it's a shame to (possibly) see him go, he's not irreplaceable.

We absolutely should be complaining.

 

The club shouldn't be in the position to have to sell their best up and coming youth products just to keep the lights on. It's a disgrace that we've managed ourselves into this position. The entire point of spending £100m+ on Seagrave and it's high annual running costs was to create, develop and use players like Monga, not sell them early in their careers just to maintain cashflow and enable the signings of players with worse prospects.

Regardless of financial position he'd of likely gone anyway, albeit we'd of perhaps got a bit more for him.

It'll be the opposite. 

 

I know everyone wants it to have sell on fees and other bonuses that match his perceived potential. 

 

But the club will be desperate to generate as much money now as possible. It'll be hugely front loaded towards the biggest fee we can get now.

Dont even think that would be useful to us, technically he is probs better than 99.9% of league 1 players but will get absolutely bodied/bullied currently in that league at his age as we saw in the championship when he was largely ineffective or missing in games.

Let’s be honest he was never going to hang around here, even if we did stay up. He has plenty of suitors queuing up for him. It’s a great deal for us if we get a decent fee for him.
