Zelensky was purely positioning in terms of Putin is not to be trusted - That's hardly an outrageous statement in the circumstances. He also started the press meeting paying thanks to America,

He was also saying that Putin is not to be trusted, reneges on deals irrespective of who is US president - again a fair statement - Trumps fragile ego cannot take that sort of reality.

Trump and Vance are 2 of those the biggest con artists and tricksters to ever get to high office and that says something.

I imagine a deal will get done but after they've either screwed Zelensky or called for him to step down so it came be made - they are total scumbags.

Zelensky comes across as a sane man talking to 2 complete and utter lunatics

Says something  about USA that they got elected.

There supporters are like ours who clap our players off after an 8th consecutive  defeat!!!

I see the comparison - I think some people are more easily brain washed than others.

On another note, the Chinese must be absolutely loving all of this. Sit back and enjoy (and possibly sell something based on) the chaos.

They barely have to do anything.

China is essentially the only rational major power in the world. The amount of trade they’ll do off the back of this is insane.

They've already exported clean energy infrastructure to a lot of sub Saharan Africa.

If realpolitik is a contest, then they're quietly winning while not having to do much at all.

That was the most extraordinary exchange between presidents I've ever seen. Folk may applaud Zelensky for standing up to Trump and Vance, but at what cost? Ukraine desparately needs the Trump adminstration on board, but there's no chance of that now. It felt like a puppet show, with Putin pulling the strings. The only way Ukraine can survive is if Zelensky steps down immediately, and someone with more a realistic attitude to their existential threat takes over. If Zelensky thinks Europe alone can halt Russia, then he's relying on a unity of European NATO members which either doesn't exist or which could result in the war spreading across the whole of Western Europe. Do we really want Russian drones attacking Leicester because of Zelensky's spat with Trump yesterday?

Remember the saying - don't bite the hand that feeds you? Maybe it's one that Zelensky forgot.

Sorry but you're either on the wind up, a Russian bot, or live outside of the UK. I'd rather face that than bury our heads in the sand and bow down to Putin.

So rather everyone else is just busy losing?

Pretty much, yes.

And the Chinese can just quietly get on with what they're doing.

Starmer still deathly quiet. Seems a bit like he’s on the same team as Orban while the rest of the European leaders rally round Zelensky. There’s going to come a point where he has to try and stop “both sidesing” this and actually talk out against Trump and America. I’m sure deep down Starmer knows this, but I wonder what the point actually is.

Thought I’d just seen one the news a statement had been made about unwavering support for Ukraine?

If that’s true fair enough . All I saw was on bbc saying he hadn’t made a statement yet

Yeah, I don’t think it’s fair to say that Starmer’s on the same side as Orban. He’s trying to maintain a diplomatic bridge between the US and Europe. It may not work but I don’t blame him for trying at this point.

I think that’s fair, up to the point where the second family member has been trying to kill the first and you’re now proposing that both he and you each take one of the first’s kidneys.

Shit happens, it's families for you.

‘Realistic attitude’ is that your euphemism for taking the Trump deal, with no security for the country?  That would just be a temporary ceasefire for Putin to March back in.  I am always surprised that people think appeasement is viable policy, when history has shown otherwise.  The only thing I can agree with Trump is that Europe does need to be more responsible for its defence.  Not sure how Russia could actually take on a Europe, that includes countries on its border like Poland who have the third largest military in NATO.  This is a Russia, who have had to go begging to North Korea to use North Korean troops on the Ukraine front line, as they have lost so many of their own forces.

To be fair Dunge, the 2 families killing each other was not on the alphas watch, he has come back to see this shite fest, the rest of the families and whoever was in power have shown very little leadership

Trouble is he practically gave Trump a rim job the other day so to now row in the opposite direction will undo all that.
