You know we don't get 5 million a season , right ?.

I sense your trying to be pedantic and i still dont get what you are trying to point out?

It’s encouraging to see that a number of our players who are simply not good enough are linked with moves away.

If we can upgrade Daka, Thomas and Choudhury that’s great business

To buy a 25 million player , we'd have to make four more payments of 5 million a season.

Dick around until buyers get bored and move on. Give a new long term contract with 40% pay rise leave on the bench until contract runs out or loan out paying 95% of wages . Rinse and repeat

It certainly balances the books for 1 year at least to get us out a mess

Has he honestly got 18 months left on his deal? I know it was never announced the exact length and some thought it expired last summer but another 2 years from then would be surprising.

The wording "Proposal worth €5mill" and a subsequent knockback suggest that it's probably worth a maximum €5mill and it's nothing like that up front.

Also nobody is considering Thomas might not want to go.

Though he fxxking should.

They will know through the agent whether he will go and what salary he will be paid.

Which is an amount that is easily subsidable once we have sorted our books out which it seems we are pushing to do, if we are having similar financial issues over the next 3/4 years it’d be beyond words how poor it’d have to be considering the skimping we are currently doing

It’s a valid point that was made though. Obviously the maths speaks for itself in terms of the PSR stuff.

But by working on that basis, we are putting ourselves to the limit constantly and given we are certainly going down, where do the other payments in future years come from?

I guess the obvious answer is to then sell the player on but for that to happen, the recruitment needs to be right, players who will be able to be sold on for profit and not on stupid wages.

The sole view of we can now buy a £25mill player over 5 year in itself is flawed and that could be Oliver Skipp!

5m is a very fair offer.

Options are sell now, take 5m and his wages off the books.

Reject 5m keep paying him and let him walk for free next summer. Or knowing Rudkin, tie Thomas down to a 5 year contract on good money.

Depend on the break down of the offer, if its £10 upfront and the rest when they win the league not so much.

If its 5m upfront then 100%

I think he gets unnecessary hate on here.

He’s had some tortured performances for us. However people forget the ones when he’s had solid games. He’s unspectacular but at times, he’s more stable than the Kristiansen, who I think Is at a similar level.

We just need to get as many out as possible. So few are worth keeping.

Am I right in thinking £5m essentially gives us 15m leeway with PSR?

in which case, this is absolutely a no brainer

25m on a 5 year deal.

Add the little bit from Cannon and it's over 30 million to spend.

Thomas and Hamza can go without a direct replacement - no great loss

Like we did with Soule?

Soule would have come if his first choice hadn't come off for him.

The club's always know whether the player will sign when bidding.
