Didn't actually watch the game but saw in the match thread Vardy was getting pelters first half yet the bbc write-up singles him out for praise and he was voted motm lol

Lazy journalism or FT posters being clueless?

It's usually both of these.

The thing with line ups - fans have a much narrower view in terms of only seeing match days AND have it easy because if they get it wrong there’s no real come back.

We have no idea what Ruud would be seeing in training - the enthusiasm, the effort, the application from players - and he has much more pressure on his selections making conservative trade offs that lean towards creating defensive stability more likely.

Fans tend to go for perceived attacking skill over any other factor - which is why you continually see suggested players and formations on here that have two number 10’s in Bilal and Facundo.

Yet, we’re in a relegation battle, so I’ve never been sure having both of them on the pitch at the same time is a smart idea for a club in our situation.

What I’d say is more important first and foremost is having players on the pitch with the right mindset - and that might be what some fans may have been missing from Ruud’s selection choices today.

I agree with this and it proper winds me when managers (specifically international level), ignore in form players and go for there out of form favourites

Didn’t think we would pull it out the bag today but fair play that’s a big 3 points for us and good for confidence even if spurs are shite going 1-0 to win is never easy . Get a few more players in and we could genuinely stay up this season.

The lads need to sit down, look at the table and think, we’re 17th despite being this bad for most of the season. If we can up our levels by even 10%, we can start to pick up and move away from the teams below.

We have been so BAD in 75% of matches and yet we’re still 17th.

Christ I hope we can stay up just because of how crap this league is. If we can be outside the relegation zone in late January just imagine what we could do when we're good.

I’ve never felt more like singing the blues, the Leicester win, the Forest lose- oh Leicester, you got me singing the BLUES

2 3 4! 😂

It's been the best weekend all season.   Our 3 main relegation rivals all lose, and Forest get absolutely hammered.
