This bloke is as much a tool as we thought he was.

He clearly wanted no part in playing for us in the Championship.

It's a short career. He came to us to further his career by moving to the Prem. He left because playing for a morally depleted team in the Championship may mean he'd be forgotten and his career would stagnate.

He's moved to the Bundesliga and is proving his quality there.

I don't begrudge players wanting to move after relegation. The problem is if they remain here and they continue to sulk and moan, put in half-hearted performances and their body language is atrocious (e.g. Winks).

Bilal is too good for the Championship. If we'd had a competent manager last season who could structure the team to help him and Buonanotte create more chances, maybe he'd still be here and maybe we'd be looking like a proper Premier League team again.

Like Bilal at Preston then 😂

Well he isn’t, he owes the club nothing, we were merely his employer…. He’s a very talented player, and he was playing in a load of shit, why would he want to stay? Could you imagine him now? Languishing in mid table with a World Cup coming?

He did what was necessary and moved on to better his career. I wish him all the best and hope he develops into the player he should be.

His desire to leave is merely a reflection on how badly the club is run, not his personality.

To say that him jumping ship after just one season has nothing to do with his personality is a bit of a stretch. Personally I have no particularly strong feelings for him to do well, reflecting his opinion of Leicester City!

One thing thinking it, he doesn’t need to publicly state it.

Can anyone post what he actually said?

https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/what-marti-cifuentes-was-told-bilal-el-khannouss-when-he-arrived-leicester-city/

“The new coach has arrived at Leicester. We had resumed for two weeks. He wanted to explain his project to me but I was clear from the beginning with the club and the coach."

"I didn't see myself staying in the Championship, I aim much higher than that while respecting the Championship. I wanted to play in the Premier League, in the Bundesliga, at the highest level. Play European Cups as a young man of my age wants. I said I wanted to leave."

"They told me that if everything fell into place with the deal, they would make it happen. In the end, towards the end of the transfer window, they must have had a bit more hope that I would stay. That was out of the question for me, and I told them so. I really couldn't see myself staying another year at Leicester."

I reckon ELK for all of his flashy touches actually blocked the position for two players who would’ve had better end product in the number 10 role. Buonanotte and BDCR.

It wasn’t binary. We could have played them together. Besides BEK and Buonanotte are much better players than Reid.

I get what people are saying about him aiming high or whatever but if you don't want to play for Leicester I don't care about you and you can **** off. That should always be the case.

He's a great player and I think he will have a good career and I don't put any of the relegation down to him - but I wouldn't pick him or many of the players who we had first time around for a relegation scrap. There's a lot of players now who would take a screamer in a 2-1 loss to Villa over a 1-0 win over Burnley. Anything to put on their Insta reels.

To me, the bigger issue is why on earth were we building around him in preseason.

How damn stupid are we? I understand early pre-season keeping people fit. But the last couple of games are truly preparation for the season. How much of a cuck are we
