I think an awful lot of these predictions are based off potential points deductions.

i think it’s unlikely that happens before the season now and I think mentality wise if we win say 3 out of the first 5 and then get a deduction, it’ll feel much better than starting on -6.

I could understand all this mad table stuff coming out if we’d already been given -6. Just seems a bit silly at this point

I actually don't care what some guy called Jack at Betfair may think.

And if we largely played a team of academy grads, blooding them for the future, then i would see 10th as a major result.

Imagine if we'd started on -6 last season. We wouldn't have made double figures lol

Last season if 10th had been given 6 more points then they'd have finished 8th.

It's probably the massive lack of urgency from the senior management at the club. We've got about 6 players who stated they wanted a new challenge in the summer. Absolutely no new signings.

Can't imagine the effort is going to be there from the team this season, especially if things aren't going well, unless we inject some new blood and energy. The kids coming in are great, but unless we have a Gerrard type in there, none of them are going to speak up against a senior pro that's half-arsing it.

Marti might get a tune early doors, although the Koln friendly didn't really suggest so much.

If we do fail to make squad changes this summer, I expect it'll be an incredibly flat season.

I think it’s best to compare to other yo-yo sides/strong squads. Sheff Utd for example still would have been 3rd even with a 14 point deduction!

They would have needed 23 points taken off them to not make the playoffs lol

To be fair they managed to shift 14 players on transfer and make £40m

They then signed 10 players and had 7 loans.

That's definitely what I'd call a refresh. We've got the same gimps and we've lost KDH's 26 goal contributions.

I can certainly see why outsiders don't expect us to be challenging. This is a club that got relegated with a wage budget and squad that had been challenging the top 6 and been regularly in Europe. We're now showing the exact same lack of desire we showed in the summer before that.

Pure ability will get us through some games, but when games become a battle and the season feels like a slog, I don't see our boys being the ones that come on out on top.

Rohl left Sheffield Wednesday. Stinker from the fella!

Seems pretty clear he wants to head back to Germany, I imagine that's what'll happen.

The timing is atrocious, surely every half decent club have someone appointed with few weeks left till the season?

I think he interviewed or declared interest in 3 jobs and didn't get any of them. Whether that was due to lack of interest in him as a manager or them not wanting to deal with Chansiri I guess we'll find out.

I expect he'll go back to Germany enjoy some time with his family and look for a job once sacking season begins in 2-3 months.

Rohl gone. Think we have missed out big time on this one. Reasonably happy with Marti and hope he can take us to the next level, but I think Rohl's ceiling is far higher.
I don't think there is any way we could have left it this late to bring him in sadly. Hopefully Rohl doesn't rush into a job and if for some reason we don't hit the ground running under Marti he will be available.

Agreed, but we couldn't wait, but just shows how much Chansiri is crazy compared to Aiyawatt, they had a reasonable compensation from us, but didn't want to proceed.

Anyone who thinks we're going to walk the league are in for a big suprise. We're far weaker than 2 years ago.

Sure we've got lots of great kids but not sure if they're ready for a season against seasoned pros in the championship.

I was listening to the The Athletic’s Totally Football Podcast and they were previewing the Championship and we didn’t even get a mention😂😂😂

Ipswich will be strong, Southampton are unlikely to go back up, interested in Birmingham and Wrexham, good that Ryan Mason now has a job at West Brom, the Foxes however completely anonymous😂

It’s interesting because in those two games, we were far superior to Ipswich and Southampton at the end of the season. Southampton game especially we could’ve won by 4 or 5 if we put our foot down

If our squad remains similar to what it is now I think we’ll be stronger. Last time round we had a team made up of new starters or those coming back into the fold.
