We signed Diogo Jota on loan in the Championship in 2017, and triggered his permanent deal that January for around €14m.

Though technically it wasn't paid until the summer, after we'd been promoted.

hard to see past Ipswich winning the league this season tbf

It's far from agreed doing a bit more reading. Ipswich were dogshit when they came here last and lost their two biggest/best players.

Can't wait to see Fatawu and Monga toying with Leaf Davis personally.

Does make me laugh that we've been written off completely as top 2 (it feels like even without a points deduction) when last two times in the prem we were the best of the relegated sides and this team around we beat Southampton twice and beat and drew against Ipswich...and we WERE HOPELESS ALL SEASON.

There are levels to championship royalty and we are far and away the best.

the model Wrexham have got is so unsustainable imo

its like the are building with a pack of cards

Yeah I saw a podcast where their chief exec literally said we've not had to worry about selling players because we just sign them to do a job then let them go for free. Just checked transfermarkt and they've literally not received a fee for a player in over 5 years lol

They're going to need a massive shift in transfer policy. Parkinson isn't going to be able to go whinging to the board saying "I need a top quality championship midfielder and striker"

This will be the first time they're not able to out maneuver most of the league in the transfer market. Really curious to see how they get on. I think finishing 16th would be a good season for them. Unless they get some mad sponsorship deals in and are able to somehow spend 10s of millions.

This season's documentary should be a good watch.

Watford annouce they will no produce a matchday programme. Sad as part of tradition for some is collecting a programme. They say programme sales are low, okay simple solution dont print as many, only print a thousand copies. Think i heard swansea are another club that dont produce a programme. Derby recently brought theres back follow fan requests. Bristol City is independently produced by supporters.

Hi

Ipswich Town fan in peace! I've written a two-part preview and predictions piece over on Substack and wanted to post it on some other Championship forums.

How are you feeling about the season? I feel like Leicester have quite a big range of outcomes.

That's crazy, there are clubs at step 6 of non league that are obliged to produce a physical program for every home game due to league rules.

Some good points, but both Ipswich and Southampton are refreshing their squad, strengthening their respective teams. We are not.

If you stand still in any race, you will fall behind—even if you started the race further ahead than the others.

The heart of our midfield is the problem, toxic and useless isn’t a great combination whoever he plays.

I know more about Ipswich because my mate supports them.  They have a manager they all believe in.  The players might not be the best all over the pitch but they put a shift in for the manager and each other.

Think rules changed now all clubs dont have to produce a programme no more its optional. Think only the fa cup you need to produce a programme. Some gone for digital programme. Find ironic how clubs in say midland division will still produce a programme, to follow part of tradition yet a championship club with more funds and fans wont.

Probably a bit of a hangover from the pre-digital age. Now you can find out all the information / content you need and more from forums like this. As others said, sad for those who collect or don’t use the internet much but it was always gonna happen.

Anyone else heading this way regarding not selling programmes?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ceqyll1x1e8o

As the article says we hardly sold any and they probably weren’t worth the £3.50 price.

But shame for those who collect them or like to have something to to read .

Suppose in our case the manager notes were a waste of time !

I went to Dronfield v Coalville last week and they had a QR code on the gate that you could scan to read the programme. Probably the way to go

The Championship is maybe the 5th richest league in Europe and a major step up in terms of finance. To buy your way out of it now, with the teams coming down from the Premier League, you’ll basically be spending a small fortune,

Wrexham, I think will find this difficult.

He's not signed yet, it's believed he's holding out for Premier League offers.  But he would be a coup for another Championship side purely because you'd think his next move would be Premier League.

We really missed a trick not signing him last summer, he would have been perfect as the KDH replacement instead of signing Skipp.
