Just a point on Tonda Eckert. He’s cost his employer a potential fortune, surely he gets sacked sharpish?

"The admitted breaches concern fixtures against Oxford United in December 2025, Ipswich Town in April 2026 and Middlesbrough in May 2026."

"The EFL is now in discussion with all three clubs regarding the implications of today's decision and will make a further announcement in due course."

Wonder what the other clubs will get for being victims then.

I mean legally, it’s a ****ing huge decision, I’m amazed given the decision taken it’s only taken this long.

Yeah.  First the obvious pushback from Southampton and covering themselves on any potential comeback.  Then any objections from other parties who are either directly or even indirectly affected.  Gotta make sure they don't leave themselves open to any Nick De Marco shenanigans.

Don't like it ?  Don't cheat, then.

Absolutely fair.

Hull will be complaining if Boro beat them, though.

I agree. People saying it hardly matters because of endless youtube footage of matches are missing the points.

The margins at the top are so tight that spying on opposite would absolutely have made a difference.

Probably give Oxford 3pts and some match royalties or something as it won’t make a difference to the league.

Am surprised but nice to see the EFL take swift action. Seems a bit OTT for some dodgy scouting personally but rules are rules.

Probably will. I doubt he acted alone though when driving 5 hours up north.

Exactly. Its really not a difficult concept to figure out. I dont know why people in this thread cannot decipher something so simple.

You got found out, you reap the punishment. Don't want any punishment? Don't do it. Control the controllables.

Yep and if it hardly matters, why go out your way to do it when you know it's against the rules?

I doubt very much the spying had much of an impact on how the 2 legs played out, but in principle, its probably the right decision and sets a precident that it isn't acceptable.

I also am glad I dont have to watch Southampton waste another premier league spot.

Promotion..relegation...promotion...relegation

Yawn.

Reckon Middlesbrough will go up now.

Why would he get sacked? He single handily changed their fate this season anyway.

They would be crazy to sack him

Im sure i read the Boro manager stopped the squad going away so they could continue focusing on the final incase this happened.

Not sure if its true, or paper talk, but I remember reading it thinking haha you wish...

Turns out it was a great call.

Well, if the manager knew and planned it, then he deserves a ban and to be sacked. As various media institutions are reporting this could possibly happen.
