It's funny because I don't strictly subscribe to the idea of keeping politics out of football. For instance, there are some football clubs that are political in nature for different reasons and it's impossible to depoliticise them. For example, Celtic were founded as a charity for Irish immigrants in the East End of Glasgow. The history of the club is highly political.

However, I've always seen Leicester as politically neutral. We weren't born out of particularly politically charged circumstances and given that we are a one club city and county, it's reasonable to expect a wide range of people with different viewpoints within the support. I don't think your world view should affect determine whether you can support Leicester or not, and I'd much rather not be surrounded by people singing about Starmer, Farage, Tommy Robinson etc. I'm consistent with this, as I'd also think it would be out of place to sing songs in favour of Polanski, Corbyn, Davey or songs about Farage being a willy puller, at Leicester games.

Neither do I. But I just worry about the current division in our fanbase being even further fragmented. Until a couple of years ago I used to go to 15/20 away games a season. But the things I have heard and seen from some members who think they are doing it on political lines, has completely put me off.

Surprise, surprise coming out now that Ipswich Town were fully aware of Farage turning up. He had dinner with the Chief Exec and Chairman at the ground. Shirts were FOC (one of which he signed.

I did mention he signed the shirt 'to Mark'

What a fan to **** your fanbase over

Bristol City appear to be having a stroke this fine Friday morning lol

They've also sacked their version of Rudkin which has at least brought their fans some delight.

Statement reads as though Roy is there as a technical advisor for the new Sporting Director.

Looks like Hodgson will begin and end his career in English management at the same club!

Said it at the start of the season, hes a very strange character who makes some very strange decisions without much appreciation for others.

Why Roy, though?..

Probably knows the Lansdownes, how they make most of their decisions.

Bit strange. They're not getting in the play-offs and nor are they going down. Why now?

Possibly to beat the summer merry-go-round ?

I think it's a good idea. They can target a new permanent manager & hopefully have it sorted a.s.a.p. They then have time to bring in new players & have them settled, have a good pre-season etc.

And of course Roy was briefly Bristol City manager over 40 years ago!

Struber was starting to get grumpy and calling out the hierarchy as well, which we know already (e.g. Sir Nige), Lansclown who is notoriously thin skinned, does not like one bit.

Hilarious stuff.

I do find the Bristol City situation interesting.

When I left Ashton Gate on Good Friday after we absolutely fumbled a result there, one of the locals chirped up calling us ungrateful. I told him in a nice way to **** off.

How a twist now they are grumbling about ownership and direction. (along with at least 50% of the top two divisions).

Wouldn’t surprise me if we ended up with Struber in the summer.

Hope not.

Hes very much a flatters to deceive kinda head coach.

Has a strong track record of shooting himself in the foot and throwing the towel in if he doesn’t get all his own way.

Probably on brand for us, the only team weve played this season who looked utterly more clueless and devoid of anything than us, yep lets employ him!

Haha I had a very similar situation as well. Time did its thing.

Obviously knows someone there from his time as manager in 1982 ?!

I presume there has been some sort of falling out with Struber.

I think it's more that he's pals with Richard Scudamore who joined the Board there a year or 2 ago.

The latter point you would be correct.

I imagine having Roy Hodgson as your manager would be like watching Winnie the Pooh potter out on to the pitch to take training, quite a beloved, gentle, happy to please character. It's not who I would want leading me.

BCFC fans are absolutely fuming over this, many on the OTIB forum are liking this to Nige being sacked where they’ve effectively gotten rid of a manager that seemingly was given an impossible job, got shafted in January and with the tools he had was showing signs of being a good coach.

Might be worth looking out for if we can somehow pull of a minor miracle. I’m not 100% sold but looks an interesting one for where we are.

He's one to stay well clear of, unfortunately he would be well on brand for our circus.
