I doubt we will pay compensation for a manager in their role in our predicament, and due to PSR.

So best we can hope for because let’s be honest the likes of Dyche etc wouldn’t come here would be probably the likes of Gerrard , Rob Edwards , Russell Martin

We have f**ked it quite simply, maybe if the club is sold we could appoint a far better manager but that seems unlikely.

Get the list

That list is probably a bit outdated now in that we will be looking at Championshio candidates.

Personally I like Rohl but unlikely as is mentioned, we would pay compensation. He may also not want to come near us.

I also like Wellens and the job he is doing and think he could step up to the Championship. But again, compensation.

Its going to be Russell Martin.

It will be either Gary O’Neil or Russell Martin, if Ruud goes.

Don’t bother getting your hopes up for anyone else with this short signed board.

For what it’s worth, I still think they will give Ruud the summer to build his own team as they know he’s been dealt the worst hand ever in terms of a squad physically and mentality equipped to stay up. Plus, the Thai loyalty factor and more likely negative press from Ruud’s mates (Neville et al) about the regime means they will feel obliged to give him a chance to create his own team.

I would take Sean Dyche and that’s saying something, that’s how low we’ve fallen

At least with Dyche there would be a clear plan and players would work hard.

I'd like to know who it is for next season before the ST renewal date

In compiling a squad and management team that is so non competitive the club have ripped the fans off this season

We haven’t got the players for Dyche. He would end up playing Jannik up top with an out of retirement Albrighton trying to hit him from half way.

We need someone with balls. Someone who will get us organised and will make us aggressive on and off the ball. There are so many flaws in the current set up it needs someone to come in and start again.

Looking at who is available now (and free) it is slim pickings. I would probably plump for O’Neil. As a short term appointment I think he would get us fired up and having a go.

We should always have  a  shortlist of managerial replacements .  We should always have a shortlist of transfer targets for every position.

However,  I doubt we know how to turn to after RVN

This is a good point. Also it was said this was Top’s appointment whereas Cooper wasn’t.

The evidence would show that when it comes to digging in and doubling down on his decisions, he won’t make the decision quickly.

I've always felt the board would love Gerrard here, but imagine we don't see him in the UK for a while to stop his Saudi earnings being taxed

That is suggesting Rudkin and his minions are proactive and actually know what they are doing. Sadly, we're in this mess because of him.

Considering how quickly they moved to rightly sack Cooper, I haven't got a clue what they seeing with Ruud, and I think given the eyes are on them since the protest from multiple national media outlets, it wouldn't surprise me if their reluctance to sack him stems from this, we've seen already that they value their position and power above doing the right thing for the club.

I don’t think any manager could change the mindset of this group. One of the weakest set of players I can remember. Physically and mentally

Struggling to believe any manager would want this job at the minute... the squad lack any premiership qualities or ability.. team moral in the gutter ... players wishing the season over so they can move on ... a owner ... Rudkin and others who seem to have nothing to offer

Hope you’re right, think they’ve wanted him in the past.

That was before he catastrophically failed in the PL with Southampton. As useless as our owners have been in recent years, I can’t see them choosing somebody who has emphatically proven that he cannot manage a club of a similar size in the PL.

They nearly appointed Jesse Marsch after sacking Rodgers so I don't think it is that far fetched.
