Well, we’ve lost more ground on those chasing European football. Starting to think we won’t be playing in Europe next season

It’s ok. Rudders is organising a preseason tour of Kazakstan.

I think we got to the stage it's pointless blaming the team or the manager, we know they both rubbish, but they all products of poor management of the club at the level above, that what needs to change. We all knew the side wasn't good enough, where it needed to be strengthened. but it wasn't, if anything the transfers in we have made the position worse, we will be relegated and stuck with players we can't sell and ain't bothered. Seriously someone needs to be accountable for all the bad decisions made in the last so many seasons, unless there are drastic change before next season I can see that I and many fans will stop bothering. The current higher levels of the club don't seem to care anymore, so why should we :(

TBF, I enjoyed the season in the championship under Maresca (mostly), winning loads, but I'm not so sure about next season down there.....

Didn't watch or listen but kept up to date on here with it. We conceded and didn't score, same as usual. Not much else to say.

Someone is going to be on the end of a 10-0 pasting this season!

however, it won’t be anyone we play against.

Useless as ever

I listened  o n the radio and the opinion was the best we    had played for weeks  and yet marks and comments  suggested we were rubbish  so  I wonder how many actually go.

It was a much better effort , but I can’t understand rudds subs , daka was useless , but he just keeps on playing him , he brings on players who have no time to make a difference

Got to say it’s a real sign just how bad we have been when we come off the back of. 1-0 defeat, concede 20 shots and an XG of 1.78 whilst having 3 shots and an XG of 0.10 and it’s seen as progress.

was it really the improvement that Ruud said it was or was it more down to Chelsea not taking their chances, lets be honest if Palmer had scored the penalty in the 20 odd minute, it would have been a different story altogether.

The bar has been set so low now that this is almost seen as a moral victory, the standards at the club have stooped to a new low and I am sorry but Ruud has to go, much in the same way that Cooper went for such negative tactics & performances.

Yes he changed shape but it was a fairly bizarre team selection and gave us little in the way of any attacking threat.

"Best we played for weeks" and "we were rubbish" are not mutually exclusive as things stand.

One defensive mistake costed us again.

How come no one closed in before the shot that led to the goal?

I'd say because none of the Forward players tracked his run up to our Box. Inexperience from Facundo I'd say.

These type of mistakes are what you get when you're playing young players.

Then of course Faes didn't go out to him either and Mads was unsighted until too late.

It was a start, but VK and JJ as wing backs? Come on, neither of them got past the halfway line. The last time we played 3-5-2 well was under MON, he didn’t have grafting fullbacks as wing backs he had Guppy and Impey, both out and out wide men! Neither as I recall got their shorts dirty, they tucked in now and then but their starting position was the halfway line, leaving Taggert Elliott and Walsh to deal with defensive matters. And guess what, we fizzed the ball into the box from both sides creating chances that Vardy can only dream about at the minute. The problem is modern coaches are too worried about losing to actually try and win!

Yeah. The sad thing in, despite us looking much better defensively, I was thinking on gosh there is going to be one time when we don’t close down and we will then let them score. It happened!

I have to say separately that having Faes in a back 3 is much better than in a back 2. In a back 2, as he is often out of position, it causes havoc at the back. But with 3, we have 2 others to cover which then allows Faes the freedom to defend on the front foot - ie. “his regular rushing up interceptions/tackling”.

I feel like that’s the way we need to set up. Personally I’d play both Buonanotte and El Khannouss and remove a striker.

In isolation, that wasn’t that bad. Chelsea were poor and we had no threat, but it was nowhere near as bad as the last couple of games.

It’s too late now though. Bored to death of losing.

RVN will stick with the back three now and we'll see an improvement. We'll be harder to beat and will start picking up points - but not enough to overhaul Wolves. Then at the end of the season the defining narrative of our relegation will be a nagging sense that things might have been different if RVN had changed things earlier rather than stubbornly persisting with 4231 despite overwhelming evidence that it wasn't working.

I decided to avoid the game all together and played golf instead! I was following on BBC live text and this forum. What really struck me was the forum talking about how bad Soumare was but the live text on BBC were singing his praises. Especially in the first half.

I have watched MOTD and it doesn't really give any sort of view of how we played.

The one key thing was seeing the goal.....in days gone by we would have had the likes of Huth and Morgan literally throwing their bodies on the line to block shots and genuinely loving defending with their backs against the wall. Fast forward a few years and we have Wout Faes.....who is also undroppable. Mental.

This was the first match this season that I purposefully didn't watch, and it felt good.

If anyone doubts we are back in the Championship, perhaps for years to come, you are are a definition of delusional.

Reading the reaction on here and also how the fans in the away end responded at the end of the game yesterday, it epitomises what this team (And more specifically what Rudkin et al) have done to this fan base.

Our standards are *so* low. It is laughable. In any other season prior to 22/23 (Even in the 14/15 season), yesterday would've been completely and utterly unacceptable.

I'm not convinced we had more than 1 or 2 touches in their box. xG of 0.11. Never looked like winning the game, never looked like getting anything out of the game.

And yet they're applauded off and the reaction is "Isn't that better!". WTF has happened to us lol
