England Squad - Tuchel's first

They've released the England squad for the upcoming games. 

 

Disappointed to see Henderson and Rashford in over players such as Gibbs-White. Don't believe either do enough to warrant being picked.

Besides the obvious with Henderson, walker and rashford, how is Lewis-skelly in there? Hasn't played 20 games worth of minutes, never played for the under-21s and is more likely to get sent off than anything else. No way he gets in if he plays for anyone outside the big 6

Assume had Hall been fit, Lewis-Skelly isn't getting in.

Henderson has started 2 of the last 9 games for Ajax and Walker has been horrific all season

 

the likes of MGW, Wharton, Lewis Hall, Spence....not even selected

Just realised Watkins and Gallagher aren't in the side. Solanke has been poor, in a poor Spurs side, yet Watkins gets ignored. Gallagher has been brilliant for Atletico, yet Henderson gets in. BS

all in all it just feels like same old same old with england,

 

we have some real promising younger players and none ever seem to get a look in

and when they do they arent given a fair crack

think its one of the reasons why i rarely watch england games unless its a tournament now

Why do we always pick so many forwards and barely any midfielders.

 

I don't care if he doesn't rate the others but picking Walker and Henderson is just not showing any thought towards the future, which sums up this short term appointment.

Wharton is back fit and exactly the sort of player we're crying out for. Henderson and Walker will be 36 at the World Cup ffs.

Lets face it, Tuchel only needs to be good for just over 16 months. His thinking is probably getting through these two games with some steady heads.

If you think Walker and Henderson have been called up for footballing ability then you're wrong. I'm not saying I agree with it but the thinking is to provide a bit of stability under the new manager with players with experience and who know how it works. They won't be getting called up as we get closer to a tournament.

Dissapointing no recall for danny welbeck having a good season for Brighton. Interesting no Watkins? That surprised me. Jordan Henderson wow... how on earth is he in there. Henderson was done for me.. as was Kyle Walker.

 

Last nights Jack Butland performance came little too late, probably deserved recall aswell. 

 

Rashfords recall, im surprised hes been recalled so soon hes been good at Villa but only played five games or something. Little too soon. 

 

Delap at Ipswich would have been a good one... especially looking for the future.

 

Not sure about Phil Foden at the moment, wouldn't be a bad thing for him or England if he was dropped.

To be honest in Southgates first two games he called up Rooney as usual and then phased him out. So who knows what the future holds.

 

Interesting he was at the Forest v Ipswich game and hasnt picked any Forest players 😆
