Don’t want to put this in the Rohl thread because it’s perhaps a bit more generic than that, but I reckon some of the local press - Percy in particular have seriously got their back up with the club. Like Ric says there’s a complete vacuum of info or reporting at all.

Between his thinly veiled jabs at the club in his last article, and him tentatively linking Rohl to the club yet not writing a full piece about it - I reckon he’s had enough of putting too much effort in to reporting or delving deeper into this club. Fair play to him they clearly give the media absolutely fvck all to work with.

Perhaps what @Ric Flair intends to talk about on the next pod lines up with this, but the lack of reporting on us from the last 6 weeks - to now Ruud finally being sacked - to lack of news about transfer targets says a lot to me, I know we all run with this negativity that they’re totally inept but there will still be things going on at that club that would usually be getting reported/leaked by press.

And I stand by it, from what I've been told. He's the only candidate and its all timing. I trust the person that told me. If it doesn't happen, I'm sure I'll face the wrath.

yes yes you will, prepare for a takeshi's castle style punishment:ph34r:

in all seriousness tho, think we all are thankful for just any news from anyone,

It's given us something to talk about. There are no transfer news when they're should be, as players should be leaving to cut our wage bill/raise funds. It's almost like the club have shut down. The lack of communication, progress on a new manager is damn right shocking and incredibly inept. We waited till the end of June to sack a manager that should have gone before the season started.

Something is up. My spider senses are tingling.

I’d be really quite happy if King got it. At least we know of him, and he knows us, rather than tenuous links to managers none of us had heard of 3 months ago.

In fact, it might be the first thing that starts drawing me back in. He’s seen the worst of us, and the best. Was fairly integral during Pearson’s eras too, and a Pearson type era is PRECISELY what the club needs right now. Not to set us up for another PL title, but to weed out the dross, the slackers, the bad eggs and the passengers. Establish some pride in the club, pride for playing for the badge.

I had these thoughts when Shakespeare got the job but he was sadly a bit out of his depth. It's a bit soon. I'd be happy for him to stay on coaching though.

If Russel Martin turned us down because of Top/Rudkin ineptitude... maybe that's a rare win from their leadership?!

Would say it reflects pretty well on Martin myself.

It won’t be king, but if it was to be him we would need to employ 1 maybe 2 really experienced coaches to work with him.

Noticed this in the BBC Gossip column and wondered if he was going their as an assistant to Andrews or as their U21 coach. Perhaps it would definitely rule out any Rohl rumours going their if the latter and maybe Pedersson too?

Arsenal have lost their under-21s manager Mehmet Ali to Brentford.

We probably needed 1 or 2 more experienced coaches last season, hopefully we can get a couple for the upcoming season. Get some good passages of play and defensive formations going.

Clearly realised it’s a shitshow and wanted nothing to do with it. Smart guy.

plus going Rangers means he'll have a chance of more trophies on the CV, European football and potentially bigger teams looking at him

it was always the smart move for any manager over us atm

Re Percy, I’d imagine he’s got his back up as someone leaked some very poor information about Okoli which was clearly bollocks and it made him look stupid.

Id imagine that will make him very reluctant to publish any story about us until it’s a fact.

Let's not pretend Rangers haven't also been a shitshow for years.....

Ever get the feeling we have a tainted image and we cant attract the managers the board would like, in fact we are probably scrambling after who ever we can get?

True .... last 2 managers are absolute proof of it

To all of the fans that have supported the club for many years ( over 60 in my case ) we have had the most incredible ride that has surpassed any other in the leagues to date. A real privilege to have witnessed it!

To all those more recent fans that have supported us since the premier and FA Cup win. ……. We are fooked!
Amen

The one good thing about Wilder is that I think he would be the manager that effectively ends Rudkin. He's too sassy to stay quiet and let Rudders get away with being completely inept
