Would be absolutely sickening if this lot managed to get away with it based on a technicality again. You only have to see the last 12 months to know how that actually works here - it just reassures them of their own obviously ridiculous process.

Won't happen for two reasons. One is Man City being relegated is highly unlikely anyway. Second is I'd still make us probably 70:30 to finish behind Ipswich - and they're dreadful.

Yep. Everyone at the club has gave up on this season weeks ago. If sanctions are levied on Man City, maybe King Power tossing that life jacket back into the sea will be the moment when our supporter base achieves the collective consciousness that forces change at the club.

It would be exactly what we deserve to be thrown a lifeline by this, only to be beaten to the survival spot by a team that was in League One two seasons ago.

We almost handed them the title last year anyway, would be nice of us to finally complete our charity donation to Portman Road.

Man City vs Wrexham would be a hell of a TV game, won't lie. lol

Double post but it's a different point -

Considering I actually want to stay down until we've cleared out the deadwood and built a new spine of players that give a shit, having a cheat code team like Man City there to obviously dominate the league and take away an automatic spot would actually be a blessing in disguise. In hindsight, us coming straight back up before the rebuild job Enzo started was complete has been one of the worst things to happen to us.

Blood the youth, see how they do, if we fall short give them time. I like to hope the fanbase will acknowledge and respond to young players fighting for the shirt even if we don't see instant success. It's 100% preferable to having to see half of these wastemen stink up the second division.

If they’re guilty then they’ll get a points deduction that makes sure they finish on approx 35 points

Reckon -30 points does it (and makes the final six weeks of the season a little more interesting for sky - well the first few weeks of that until they’ve got above Ipswich )

Man city are 16-1 for relegation, so it's highly unlikely any points deduction will lead to a situation that gives us any sort of chance. Like others say, whilst it might be big, it'll not be big enough that there is any real chance of them being relegated.

This season almost feels like it's been engineered to keep them up. Obviously in any other season the bottom three weren't so shite, it may have meant something.

If they are guilty and it’s announced this week. A commission then has to sit on punishment which will be more time. If a pointd\s deduction was mooted it would not apply this year unless it was a low number as Manchester City will almost certainly sue in the courts dragging it out for several years. Nice to hope but as our on field performances show we are really hopeless.

That would never happen.

If Man City were to get a significant points deduction, this is what would end up happening;

- Ipswich stay up

- We go down with Man City and Southampton

- Top and co get shit scared of every rule there is, and will never even think about potentially breaching FFP again

- Man City break the points record for the Championship and will be promoted by Christmas, therefore taking an automatic promotion place (not saying we would have gotten it it next season - we won't - but it'll have a snowball effect on the rest of the league

There's still hope? Nah I don't think so...

As crap as we have been I'd take it all day long. The extra £100million next season would come in handy and be some sort of payback for not getting in the Champions League twice partially because of them.

14/15 I knew we would stay up. We had fight passion and pride. This lot have nothing and we don't deserve a free ride.

I'd rather it was Ipswich than us.

We would be the least deserving survivors of all time including those turgid Everton sides of recent years.

It would not happen though. It would not be just our opportunity, Ipswich would see it as theirs too. Their game vs us would be seen by them as their opportunity to take 3 points not ours and in the other games they’re bound to get more points than us - we don’t even score any goals.

It May at least give the remaining games a “something to play for” incentive but with this squad it’s the fans who would take motivation from that and not the players. It would be all talk as usual “We have to take this opportunity that has opened up for us blah blah blah” then come Saturday give up chasing back whilst Ruud continues to select bomb scares who are each worth a one goal handicap before we’ve even kicked off.

We have no momentum, it’s like trying to jump without a run up, we have nothing, another 2-3 points won’t be enough to finish above Ipswich.

I'd rather go down.

If we were to stay up like that then this time next year we will be in the same situation.

Same. If anything we'd probably challenge Derby's low points total next season if we stayed up this season on a technicality.

Exactly a rebuild is needed with new ownership.
