This is a really strange one and it wasn’t watching the city.

The former Mrs Livid went to see some friends in Colchester and I tagged along to watch Colchester v Bristol Rovers. I don’t know what it was.

Cold December day, stadium exposed on the edge of town and this icy wind just whipped in the whole game. I nipped down to the concourse in the second half just to have a break. Wasn’t really underdressed just absolutely frozen.

It’s not actually watching Leicester but about 7 years ago I went to watch Hertha Berlin vs Dortmund in Berlin in January and the game got moved to Friday night and it was by far the coldest I’ve ever been in my life! I couldn’t wait for the game to finish. I think it was around -8

A reserve game a couple of years before they were popularised as family night football, it was Vs Newcastle, not many in the ground which compounded the issue, frosty, freezing cold and absolute **** match. Felt really unwell, turned to mate and in synch we said “This is ****”, so decided to leave at half time. Took ages to find someone to let us out and I think half the team were tempted to follow us out.

Working away in Southampton when all seater stadiums first came in, never been cold at a match till l was persuaded to go watch them in a cup tie, but then I'd never sat down at a match before.

Cant remember anything about the game, the hypothermia has erased the memory!

January 1969, Blackbird Road playing fields were our school football fields (Gateway Grammar School). Old style leather football with laces. Ice on the ground. unheated changing rooms. Whacked on the thigh with the ball at close range. My God, the agony.

Does this count?

Sheff Wed away last season

Pretty sure it was below zero

That was freezing. Didn't help because the day before I had come back from San Francisco wear id been wearing shorts so I really felt the temperature change 🤣

Remember walking to the ground thinking I was ****ing freezing and actually saw a Leicester fan in shorts 🤣

Boro home when only about 8k of us made it, this was the night! Had to abandon car top of saffron lane near pork pie library, had to be pushed out after the game

Still to this day I'll never understand how this game went ahead regardless of it being on Sky.

It was Stockport. Strong winds and horizontal rain. Andy King (I think) scored early on and Chris O'Grady equalized. We may be playing them again next season

Leeds at home on Boxing Day - the year escapes me, but Kasper was in goal for Leeds, Kingy scored with a dipping volley.

Newcastle away 2018 I think it was, 3-2 win. Half five kick off, was around -4 up in the gods!

Forgot the game, but it was a 1-1 home draw in League One in miserable driving winter rain. Wasn't below freezing but bloody well felt like it as it was blowing directly at us in the Family Stand. Luckily there were enough empty seats that those of us who had bothered to turn up were able to huddle at the back in the top rows to keep dry, if not exactly warm. Anyone daft enough to stay below Row M that day probably got hypothermia.

Looking at the results for the season, my head's saying it was Swindon or Stockport. Maybe someone else was there and can remember? According to the stats both had under 20k attendance despite being League games - something I reckon we might just see again in the next few years the way the club's going.

As much as we fondly remember the third-tier season, there were times like that which really drove home that we'd sunk to a new low - half empty stadium, soaking wet, frozen solid, watching us labour to a draw against frankly rubbish opposition.

It was Stockport - see my post on a later page

That Leeds home game on Boxing Day was absolutely freezing I can't remember the year though.

Either Chelsea FA Cup QF in 2018 or Wolves 2022. Chelsea was mid-March but we'd had a cold snap, arctic wind and snow roll in that weekend. Game went to ET and I genuinely struggled to walk properly for about a quarter of a mile heading out afterwards. Knees has seized up from the cold.

Wolves away I got absolutely pelted with an enormous rainstorm walking to the ground. Piss wet through and the February cold that evening was unbearable

The Ipswich away debacle in 2010 runs them close and Brentford 2020 FA Cup at Griffin Park was annoyingly cold, especially as fvck all happened in that game from memory.

I remember the FA Cup 3rd round game against Man City being particularly ****ing cold, the one where Sol Bamba scored with his first touch of the ball. Freezing January day - couldn't feel my feet.

Blackpool away, Feb 2008, Dickov scored 90th minute for them to win 2-1.  Freezing, and wind coming in off the North Sea, temporary stand with no roof.
