I haven't seen enough of him to be sure. Just looking for the best potential strikers in the football league as that's what has worked best before.

 

There appears to be a dearth of the Callum Wilson/Ivan Toney/Ollie Watkins types out there at the minute though.

Ofcourse, we all know that we need a striker and it is becoming even more evident but on the plus side, I think it's also becoming clear that between Ayew and Evans, we have enough cover for this level. Marti's system really looks like it will suit Ayew as an option off the bench. Something I wasn't convinced of before pre-season.

Seen him a few times.  Looked crap every time if I am honest, against league 1 defenders.  But obviously scored a good few.

One is 16 and never scored senior goal the other has only ever got double figure once in his career.

He'll be too expensive for us at the moment, but if we shift a few, it might be worth a punt.

8 goals in 20 games in a struggling Cardiff side is far from shabby, and a strike rate of a goal every 2.5 games over his career to date is decent especially when you consider he is still only 23. He is also 6ft 4 so brings some physicality and height. 
 

I would be really happy with this and think this is the type of deal and player we should be going for, he will have sell on opportunity as well.

I'm aware of that but getting someone with a proven record to come off the bench isn't realistic. Not at this level and especially not in our current circumstances.

 

A young promising forward and an experienced savvy forward as backup is about as good as we are going to get at present as long as they can show they can do the job Cifuentes demands of them in his system.

With Rodgers' track record, if he rates him, then that's all I need to know.

The issue is Cifuentes likes to press high and from the front, Ayew really struggles with this as lacks mobility whilst Daka cannot hold up the ball and the less said about his technical ability and finishing the better, in truth despite Ayew scoring yesterday, what it showed me is that neither is really suited to the managers style.
