Thorup didn't last a year at Norwich and failed there? Wouldn't go near him personally.

That’s a different Thorup.
Jess Thorup has just left Augsburg in the bundesliga.

Reading up on his situation, it looks very messy.

Desperately wants out at Sheffield Wednesday, a job in the Bundesliga seems to be his top priority, nobody wants to pay the rumoured £5 million release clause, Rohl is getting pissy that Chansiri won’t drop his release clause, despite the fact he signed a new contract at Sheffield Wednesday around this time last year.

More this drags on, it feels like Leicester City or nowhere for him, unless a Bundesliga team change their minds. If he got the Leicester job, would his heart even be in it? Does he even want another Championship job?

He comes across as the type of guy who’d jump at the first opportunity, if a Bundesliga team especially came in for him.

If he’s successful with us he will be in the PL, if not then we’ll probably want rid anyway.

Chansiri seems petty enough to let Rohl bomb the club into league one as well, just so he can "win" lol

Doesn’t seem to be any interest in him in bundesliga atm apart from Werder Bremen.
And those talks seem to of broken down.
If it’s true what’s been reported he’d rather stay in England.

This was from a BBC Sheffield journalist yesterday, seems the release clause keeps being a stumbling block. If other reports are led to believe, Rohl has done a few interviews regarding his desire to move, supposedly classed managing in the Bundesliga as a “top choice”.

Just feels like the Leicester job wouldn’t be his top priority. He’d still be in my top five candidates, but he’d certainly come with a few red flags.

Yeah the Pedersen rumours come from Martin apparently wanting him as part of his backroom team, a lot of Wednesday fans rate him and think he could take over when Rohl inevitably leaves. Rohl and Pedersen would be a massive step forward.

I’m always worried you get a gerrard situation when you get a manager without their highly regarded number 2.

He will have enough number 2s around him after some of last seasons displays..

I keep saying this, but surely Rohl is in the legal territory of walking away and us not needing to pay compo?

Breach of contract several times

As good as Rohl may be, the £5m compo is going to put most clubs off.

If it's more than two pints of lager and a packet of crisps we'll struggle. If it's the barbican prices in plymouth it's a definite NO.

He's going to walk. It's up to us to take advantage of the situation.

Potentially why the Martin talk has gone cold.

Exactly this. How they haven't been relegated, especially in his first season when he took over with them having picked up something like 2 points from their first 10 games, is beyond me.

Wednesday fans who have complained this season will have a lot more to complain about once he inevitably walks. They won't get anyone decent in to a club who can't pay their staff on time and are apparently at risk of a transfer embargo. They'll drop and drop hard once he's gone.
