Foxin_Mad Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 Surely its much better for it to be complicated to get the right man to take the club forward instead of making do with a 3rd rate substitute, this is what we did with Cooper. This shows the levels of mediocracy and ineptitude at the club, to accept 3rd best because its easy. The lot of them need to be ****ed off, how Rudkin still has a job is beyond belief, the bloke is not fit to shovel horseshit.
RyCleary Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 SSN says compo is under £1m but other issues are making it hard - I’m guessing it’s Rudkin losing his laptop charger 4

I can well believe he has moved the goal posts - just look at the statement he put out a couple of weeks ago about the state of the negotiations to sell that club, the guy is a clown. The situation we find ourselves in right now is unforgivable, given our relegation was confirmed so long ago. That said, it's never to late to make the right decision and I would rather wait a week or two and get Rohl or Dyche, rather than settling for Wilder. I cannot fathom a single reason for appointing O'Neil.

I don’t mean this to be personal but do you have any clue on his playing style, tactical set up and his preference of players? He would kill this golden generation that we have. goose2010 Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 surely if Rohl wanted the job he would resign? Why do we need to wait to pay Wednesday compensation? I

HarryDee8 Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 (edited) FFS literally 35 days until our first game. This as usual is taking too fricking long!! Don't want him give the job to Andy! Edited 7 July 2025 by HarryDee8

I He would have a clause in his contract saying even if he resigns and signs for someone else in x amount of time they need to pay the compo. 1

I He doesn't want to resign until he gets what he's owed from Weds in terms of missed payments. If he resigns he'll also miss out on whatever he's owed for the rest of his contract. I'm not sure we can simply promise to 'pay him back' - there's probably some legal problems there. 1

daddylonglegs Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 Pretty good chance that Jon & Top have got confused and appointed the wrong Sheffield based manager. An easy mistake to make. 1
Fox-LMA Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 Percy & Dorsett state that it will drag on in to later in the week. Maybe they are trying to give the (difficult) Rohl deal every chance? Massively reading between the lines, I know! (or even clutching at straws...) 1

Yes we looked shit, the only exception being a few of the youngsters that could easily adapt to a more direct style as when we scored that’s what we did. They would be fine under Dyche 1

I did watch the P'Boro game and after spending Saturday afternoon revelling in the prospect of walking the league with a team made of teenagers, I woke up on Sunday and realised that it was the first pre season game, coached by a coach who doesn't want to be our manager yet, at the training ground against League One opposition in what was also their first pre-season friendly where none of our players played more than 45 minutes. So putting that to one side and realising that we have a long hard season ahead of us in a challenging league, I don't get the hate for Dyche. We are a club that has no money to spend on new players, has a potential points deduction coming our way and a player culture that needs a massive shake up. These are big issues that need seriously addressing and Dyche comes with experience of this type of situation - I don't get the hate for him. I hope the kids we have do live up to the "if you're good enough, you're old enough" mantra, and we get a manager that will give them lots of game time, play pretty football, score loads of goals and concede not very many and everything will work out just fine, but the realist in me knows that there are deeper issues at our club that need sorting out. All managers come with risk. Some work out very well, others don't live up to expectations.
Suzie the Fox Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 31 minutes ago, Jakemoore said: Am I the only one who is ok with Gary O’Neil? Did alright at Wolves in his 1st year i guess. Fa Cup 1/4 final and sitting 7th at 1 point (IIRC) Biggest 2 issues with me was the following year was their defence was absolutely useless and they were inbound for relegation. Vitor comes in and they make an immediate turn around. Similar when Moyes came in for Dyche. Seems like both managers can do ok at times, but either don't have a plan B or are too stubborn to change it up or they lose the dressing room. 1
bald reynard Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 Chris Powell in NOW as Coach, to work with Kingy (again), then when his boss comes in as Manager (whenever he can sort out his stuff with that 'looney', Chansiri), CP to be Assistant. 3

coolhandfox Posted 7 July 2025 Posted 7 July 2025 It's obvious we want Rohl or someone else hard to get, Wilder, Dyche or O'Neill could have been appointed weeks ago.
