That was the problem with pretty much publicly promoting Jakub during pre-season… it hurt our bargaining power in terms of Mads.

 

The further problem is there’s no way we could keep Mads now without seriously upsetting the apple kart in one way or another.

I agree with the second part and I actually want to see Stolarcryk promoted to number 1.

 

I don’t think the first part is true though. Hermansen was coming back from injury so wasn’t able to play I thought. He was then brought in for the final game when you’d expect to see more or less a first 11. So it feels more that we are showing we don’t need to sell as others have said.

Jakub has featured in a lot of the early season promotional material too.

 

That made it very clear, Mads is going, Stolz will be number 1.

 

The Fiorentina game… I expect that was a late attempt by us to play a little bit of hardball, but if you’re short on bidders in a market apparently flooded with available goalkeepers… that was never likely to work.

I can see it being only about 16 with some addons after the fact, to bring it up to about 20 in the future, to be quite honest. Maybe a sell on % somewhere.

 

We look extremely desperate and we have cover for him. We also signed him for peanuts and this would be over 10m profit plus any extras down the line.

 

WHU have spent the last week showing us they can find other goalkeepers for 6m - 9m, we're not really in a position to **** about.

How much better is James Trafford surely not nearly twice the price if £16 million is near the figure. Do seem to pay over the odds and sell on the cheap particularly in last couple of years

We like the Brazilian but prefer Mads at Leicester but this valuation is high and we other targets too so our money has to stretch.

Think the English tax is more the thing as both Pickford and Ramsdale went for more from relegated clubs.
