Not that I'm defending some of the awful decision making since we won the league but King Power took a skint club for whom the Prem was a dream and gave us some of the best seasons our club has ever had. We came 5th the season before they took over. 3

Hardly roaring success. We were on an upwards trajectory regardless with Pearson in charge. KP set us back by getting rid of Pearson and chucking big money around before they learnt their mistake and went back to him. Not complaining as everything happens for a reason. Even if we had gone up the season before we did (Watford defeat), the perfect storm of circumstances that aligned for the title win are different. We may have yo-yo’d and never had the seasons in Europe or the FA cup. Everything that happened set the path for what followed. But, there seems to be this narrative about when KP bought us. It seems some people have even convinced themselves we were actually in League 1, hey, I’ve seen people that think KP saved us from administration! They are only about 8/9 years out with their timeframes! But it’s disingenuous to give KP all the credit for what was achieved. Actually, seeing how the club has fallen apart shows Aiyawatt doesn’t have a clue. Vichai was much much better but there were still mistakes and bad decisions. 3
Jon the Hat Posted 18 August 2025 Posted 18 August 2025 They are hardly the first owners to find that managing a football club is very different to managing their other business. Vichai was though a lucky man, and I tend to think you make your own luck. Top has not made his own luck. 1

Forest have been talking to City about McAtee and Lewis obviously, and a lot of us think MGW to City next summer might be part of the conversation.

Mandaric wanted to lighten the wage bill (Pearson was expensive) and have the squad playing prettier football to try and get a better deal for the club/get the deal over the line. KP took a while to learn English football but still delivered some of the best times to be a Leicester fan. Top doesn't seem to have the same ability his dad had that's for certain, maybe he'll still come good but there's a big financial mess to clear up first.

HankMarvin Posted 19 August 2025 Posted 19 August 2025 Birmingham City have reportedly set their sights on a shock move for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Deeg67 Posted 19 August 2025 Posted 19 August 2025 Would think he can still get a PL gig somewhere if he wants it.

FoxinNotts Posted 20 August 2025 Posted 20 August 2025 Meanwhile, as our own house burns around our ears, Notts Forest sign Douglas Luiz to replace their only real 'problem child' Sangare, to complete a quite outstanding starting 11 ☹️🙄

I know a lot of ours comes down to bad decisions within, but im not sold on Forests ownership either. I think they'll come crashing down heavy sooner rather than later. Atleast we had some trophies to show for our good period, not just a fraudulent spot in the Europa League. 1
Muzzy_no7 Posted 22 August 2025 Posted 22 August 2025 Just clocked the Matt Turner Forest to Lyon transfer as well as the numerous dealings between the two clubs and Botafogo. Blatant fiddling happening in front of our eyes just going unanswered.

The Bear Posted 22 August 2025 Posted 22 August 2025 He's not even that good either. At least Hutchison looks dangerous for the same price. 4
