It seems all but done and agreed.

Obviously the reaction isn’t going to be great, we ripped his Saints team apart but what are the genuine positives and negatives of this appointment?

Did he at least develop young players?

Worth a watch?

He speaks brilliantly in this and is likeable from this. But there is inter with Ruud and with Neville where he comes across well.

I did wonder when I watched it if the club had got agent lineker to help his profile.

Ruud has been bad, but this guy is even worse! Ruud has a better points per game with an inherited squad than Martin got with a squad he built!

It's like trying to pull a rabbit our of a hat and ending up with a turd!

If fans are genuinely against this, it can be reversed. As long as it’s not confirmed before Bournemouth, the fans can voice it, they won’t listen but atleast voice it on match day.

Fvck you Leicester, I was hoping to change my profile pic this summer 😡

If this happens, I’ve been prepared for it for months, Martin becoming Leicester manager would just be the most inevitable appointment in our history.

Yeah, it’s genuinely a good interview and he speaks really well. But about half way through he admits he’s more determined than ever to play his way….

Ruud in.

If true then that's it for me. Will sadly watch from afar. Our hierarchy will have completely lost their marbles. Doubt there's one of Russell Martin's previous clubs that would have him back as Manager, so why we would want to employ him beggars belief. Southampton fans must be busting a gut laughing at this news.

I think this is a bit unfair. Rylan would be a far better appointment than Martin!

It would be an appointment completely lacking in imagination and nous.

Another decision taken because we’re hamstrung financially because of how poorly we’re being run off the pitch. Another guy appointed because we have no clear succession planning or Director of Football across the up and coming managers of European or world football.

An appointment that you’d have to go back on the minute you were promoted rather than someone who can build to be here for the next several years.
