teblin Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 (edited) I think this appointment has been on the cards for 3 years. @ClaphamFox I hope you are still right when you say the club won't be that stupid. Edited 21 May 2025 by teblin

K789 Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Reasonably happy. When I watched them thry seemed to miss a lot of chances in the efl. Ripped alot of teams apart 1

Fox92 Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 People complained about how different Cooper was from Maresca so surely Martin is a step in the same direction of how Maresca played. Return of possession based football. Some games will be good and some will be boring, similar to when Maresca was here. But why is it happening? Aside from the BBC quoting Football Insider 1
Fightforever Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Why would we bring in a guy who we’ve spanked everytime we’ve played. The obession with playing the “right football” the board has is bizzare. 3

Ripped alot of teams apart I think he will probably get us promoted providing if/when we get a deduction it’s not too big and if we can hold on to half of the squad. But you’re pretty much guaranteed it’s back to square one when we get promoted with a squad that’s been conditioned so heavily to play a single style they are completely unable to change. 1

kingfox Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 This is the article I’ve referred to numerous times recently. Just scroll down to the sequence section and toggle around with the statistics. As I said to a poster yesterday, if Martin doesn’t change, it will be Maresca ball on steroids. https://theanalyst.com/eu/2023/08/championship-stats-2023-24-opta 1

Aside from the BBC quoting Football Insider I can’t really understand this. Russell Martin is the closest manager to Enzo in terms of philosophy and style that we could get. I’d have imagined fans would be happy about this on this forum. This is most definitely a step in the Enzo direction. 🤢 3
Vindaloo FOX Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Not who I wanted, he's known for giving youth a chance so i guess that's a positive. As always i will back whatever idiot they find. Good luck to him if it's him. 3

Aside from the BBC quoting Football Insider https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14734515/Ruud-van-Nistelrooy-leave-Leicester-relegation-Foxes-Premier-League.html Quote Ruud van Nistelrooy is primed to leave Leicester City, with a deal to appoint Russell Martin set to be concluded in the coming days. To be fair the Mail is usually spot on with us IIRC 1

Enzo's ceiling is higher than Martin's.. 1
Popular Post cityfanlee23 Posted 21 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 21 May 2025 I’ve never wanted Ruud Van Nistelrooy to be manager more in my life. 9
Popular Post moore_94 Posted 21 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 21 May 2025 I don’t like Ruud but I honestly think I would rather stick with him than get Brussell 17
BenTheFox Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 OK, as someone to potentially get us out of the championship, he's not a dreadful option. However, he will relegate us immediately if we got promoted and stuck with him. Also, I find him incredibly dislikable. 1
lcfcsnow Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 I don't care anymore, just want Kingy to be kept on so there's some continuity and someone who has affinity with the club again. 1
Fightforever Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Martin getting us back up is likely but no chance he keeps us up. Top needs to get it into his thick skull that we can’t play pretty football and stay up in the PL in the current era. We aren’t 2016-2022 Leicester anymore we’re back to being a yoyo club and the board to get their heads out of the sand.
adam Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Martin out chants on Sunday. May as well get some practice in. 1
Kp1984 Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 I must be the only person that is good with Martin. I Ono he did crap in prem and I wouldent want him if we go up but he brought through a load of youngsters and had the balls to play them which we will need this next season. He plays a style like enzo and let’s face it it’s proven to work in championship. If he’s the manager let’s get behind him they eill need it 2
Foxin_Mad Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 (edited) This is exactly the kind of piss weak shit appointment I expected the club to make which is why I said no point replacing Rudd. Waste of money we don’t have. This guy is unbelievably shit, a whole new level, arrogant cock, shit football, pathetic mentality. These absolute willy pullers at the club have no clue, they keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. I will be gunning for the useless **** for game one do he’d better be good. I expect another compo payment when we are bottom come November. Edited 21 May 2025 by Foxin_Mad 1 1
