Isn’t that the old ‘coming together’ 

the striker isn’t heading the ball and the keeper isn’t either. 
they both bang into each other. The keeper uses his hands and the striker uses his head. 
if it was head against head then would it be a pen?

 

just don’t see it as a howler that shoudl be an overturn

So var shouldn’t be getting involved 

if MGW is actually attempting to head the ball then I could see it 

but the ball isn’t there 

 

if MGW is stationary and the keeper takes him out then a pen 

but both players are moving forwards

VAR gives those quite consistently, referee’s in game not so much. Stone wall imo.

The only discrepancy for me there is that the ball has already been headed away. 
 

I’m more leant towards it’s probably the right decision.
