King Power clearly have a “system”, which they want to progress toward.

Lots on here dub it “Manchester City”, however it’s basically possession based, controlling, strangling the life out of the oppression team.

Some would deem this “boring”.

They want to be entertained.

This is what King Power want.

Fast and direct like when we won the PL. Appreciate this will be much more “difficult” in the championship as teams sit back but based on the talent (with the wingers and the youth coming though) we have in the side it seems the best that suits us

It'd be nice if we had

a) defenders that could defend (80 goals against in a 38-game season is appalling). What's the saying – "building from the back"? Just look at what Burnley achieved this season, incredible. We have to emulate that.

b) a creative, attacking midfield (remember all the games when Vardy was left up front on his own because no one would pass the ball to him?)

c) strikers that can score (Daka better rediscover his scoring boots in the Championship: 1 (!) goal in 23 matches this season, abysmal)

d) passion, fight and determination

e) players enjoying to wear the shirt instead of simply collecting a pay check

At least our youngsters and some senior players do give me some hope.

Counter attack end to end, first couple of seasons under Rodgers,  we where that till he turned into another dull possession based team.

Attacking players being able to express themselves (proper ones, not spoilers like Ayew and Reid)

Midfielders with an eye for a pass and a goal (none of our current lot do)

Aggressive on the front foot, high-pressing football winning the ball back high up the pitch. If they beat the press midfielders and defenders stepping in to go and win it. In possession look forward, play forward, if you can't quick switches and attack the opposite side. A bit like Sheff Utd did when they came up originally under Wilder pre-covid, just a pure no respect for anyone/anybody style of football that aims to cause carnage.

For me it needs to be fluid and not be dogmatic to principles that cant be adapted.

The hard part is finding something that works in the championship but can also work in the prem.

Ive always been a sucker for Diego Simeones "Cholismo" style. For me that's the approach I think would fit the fans and club and wouldn't be out of kilter with the current direction of modern football, perhaps I'd like to see more fluidity than rigidity than simeones teams, but it is certainly not a style that is appreciated by the board, so its unlikely to ever be realistic.

I think everyone wants to see attacking football.

More importantly I want to see us winning. So whatever it takes to achieve that.

A style of football that wins you games. Martin style will probably work in the championship but he’ll want to do it if we go up (we won’t) and so what’s the long term plan? Because it’s been proven as ineffective at premier league level which I assume is the aim. It’s the worst type of football for excitement and atmosphere but I’ve been the type of fan that’s results ahead of everything. Our fanbase just won’t take to slow possession based football, that was proven under enzo to some extent. Even we were were pissing the league people weren’t happy. You have to adapt to your fanbase but unfortunately we have owners that couldn’t care less about that.

Fast, direct football with a solid defence. And by direct it doesn’t mean hoofing the ball up to a big striker all the time. We can be direct whilst keeping it on the deck aswell as going long sometimes.

The Man City style of football stopped being as effective these past few years. We're returning to quick, direct attacking alongside managing possession well.
