What’s the latest on Trump being in the Epstein files then? Or have we sweat that under the carpet (again).

No, it's Andrew who sweat it under the carpet.

Admiral cooper was saying that irans opening salvo to the  recent nuclear talks was to declare that they had 450kgs of 60% enriched uranium which would be enough to eventually turn into 11 nuclear bombs! Probably the stupidest way you could imagine to open negotiations

The scary part is they are saying that there will be a ramping up of attacking and missiles/ bombing into Iran as more fire power arrives!

one can only assume they are going after all the factories and components of their ballistic missile capabilities,  everything and everyone related to the nuclear program and even the places that make the military uniforms by the sound of it!

... which of course includes this...

Would explain why the US and Israel are still 'investigating'...

And apparently continues to serve as the distraction from this...

And the only difference between Hegseth and any Iranian mullah is the name of their deity and the amount of firepower they have at their disposal. Their worldview - and intent to enforce that worldview - is identical.

That should worry anyone sane.

Hegseth is a radial Christian cleric, likewise that video of the pastors praying for Trump last night was the craziest thing I’ve seen

The reason ? Reform councillors have been a disaster in Durham

First comment. Some reform supporter asking for the Murton demographics :frusty:

It's absurd to me how people might make much of a moral distinction between such parties tbh.

Just add on that result, Kent also lost a reform councillor. A stronghold.

interesting 5 councillor by elections as it’s almost like 3 of them were in Phase 1 (Reform and Green scoring well) and then the other two in Phase 2 (return to traditional parties due to failures).

I wonder if this counts as a election to judge the government and Keir starmer?

I keep hearing farage say that in regards to the upcoming Welsh election, even though we are voting on members of the senedd. Personally I think Labour will struggle in Wales, as the Welsh labour government have not been great, personally I'll be voting green or plaid but if it was UK elections for parent I would vote differently

That is a massive reduction.  The question I suppose is "then what?"  What do you bomb once you take out the missile and drone capability?

Good for Ukraine too as Iran has been such a major supplier to Russia.

Russia have taken Iranian drone tech and are making their own versions of the shahed.   The smashing up of the Iranian armed forces is not good for Russia but I don’t think it will have a notable effect re Ukraine.  I think it’s very much not good for the Chinese defence industry and their export drive!

Clearly it’s good for the USA and Israeli defence industries (with interception rates on Iranian missiles above 90%.)

clearly it’s bad for humanity in the region. Let’s hope that in the end it is good but you wouldn’t bet much on that outcome.

If there is an uprising it will likely result in a horrendous civil war that could go on for years and end in anarchy. Perhaps this is what the Trump regime wants. The only alternative is a ground invasion that Trump definitely doesn’t want but may be forced into, having opened Pandora’s box. This would no doubt eventually remove the regime, but again won’t give Iranians a democracy.

By definition you can't force a country to be democratic, they have to decided for themselves. That's the whole point, so you're quite right.

You'd think that point would be obvious to everyone tbh.

Unless it is obvious to everyone and the reason for all of these "interventions" isn't about "spreading democracy" at all - rather exercising power in the name of maintaining that same power for oneself.

I read a fairly convincing piece that this is all actually good for Russia, basically the US are burning through weapons that Europe buys for Ukraine and the oil crisis helps them a lot economically too.

Yep, oil up to $87 a barrel and India now importing it from Russia again. Putin is laughing.

So is India.

I've said it before, but I honestly don't know why Modi gets such a free ride among world leaders in terms of opinion, considering he's a nationalist shiteheel causing as many problems as quite a few of the others.

No, my point is that Putin, Trump etc get well deserved pelters, but Modi seems to fly under the radar a bit more, despite having similar mentality and (like in this case) doing deals with the Russians.
