Him and Monga if things go the best they possibly could are the next 15 years on the wings, exciting times, our academy is by so far the best thing about the club, production vs standard of the club has to be one of the top 3/4 in the country, we consider Thomas and Choudhury iffy and they will be minimum very good championship players, that’s the ceilings for most academies even in the prem

Looked like he had never been away, was interesting once Abdul came on it made me realise how much Mavididi has dropped off and playing within himself.

Once fully fit it has to be Fatawu and Monga as starters out wide they will create havoc.

I remember having a chat with my son about Mavs 'n' Fats during the promotion season. The former being unlikely to improve much compared to the latter. With Abdul and Jeremy cutting in from out wide, it makes me feel more (not completely mind) comfortable about Ayew up front - as seems more likely by the day...

Like most he's had his confidence beaten out of him.

Also missed the end of the season injured so maybe not be as fit as possible.

I think we have to be clever with Monga he's not going to be playing 46 games and often in the Championship there is 3 games a week.

I can see a mix of Fatawu, Mavididi, Monga, Alves and Macteer on the wings over the season.

Whilst Fatawu and Mavididi were one of our biggest strengths in the last Championship campaign they probably got over played, much more options this time.

You always want the option to change one if not both wingers during the 90 minutes with an equal dangerous  threat.

Run the fullbacks ragged for 70 minutes and then challenge them with fresh legs for the final 20.

I thought it was also interesting that Fatawu and Mavididi swapped flanks for a bit yesterday; because I think Fatawu could be as dangerous down the left.

Something Enzo was never keen on, give each FB something else to think about.

It was a pretty standard thing to try back in the day.

Fatawu has always been better than Mavididi, Enzo summed Mav up in his season in saying you can tell which Mavididi you are getting within 5 minutes of the start his head will drop if he doesn’t get past his man & be a passenger for much of the game or will grow in confidence if he did & go on to have a good game.

He needs to work on that as can’t see MC putting up with passengers in his high intensity pressing game, he also now has Monga chasing him down for a start.

We missed him so much, he seemed to lift the team with his energy.  He is a far superior player to Mavadidi. It’s great to see a winger back himself with the ball and want to shoot.  Mavadidi sabotages himself too often.  He’ll skin a player but instead of taking advantage he checks back to do it again and kills the attack. When he passes quickly he’s a different player.

Really concerned he’ll be gone in January if he has a good first half of the season..

If he is firing and back to his absolute best and we are top of league then no one in their right mind would sell and risk not getting promoted :glare:

Let’s hope he keeps himself fit that long, if he does and plays well then it’s a good problem to have.

I have no doubts he’s a prem player, Chelsea would’ve probably had him
