And you bet that why?

In order of the ones strongly linked I'd go for Rohl, Cif, GON, Dyche, Wilder.

Rohl and Cifuentes id say are intriguing because less is known about them. O'Neil and Dyche meh. Wilder no. However I'm just more open minded to believe that just because someone had a below average experience somewhere else doesn't mean they're guaranteed to stink the place out here.

Fair enough :claudio:

I think it's brilliant seeing some people talk about him like he's some obscure hipster choice that no normal person could ever realistically have heard of when not only has he spent the last two seasons in this country and the division we are now in, he's also managed against us twice

Also heavily linked, and I imagine interviewed, as a replacement for both Enzo and Cooper.

We aren't going to get a manager with a succession of promotions and/or trophies who has never failed. Those managers won't come too Leicester at the moment. We have a choice of average managers who have done ok or we take a risk on a manager who has the potential to be amazing or a total disaster.

Is martin Allen up to much these days?

I would much rather an English manager personally but MC could be an excellent choice. QPR another club that is a bit of a mess so he's done a great job overall there. Saving them from relegation in the way he did in the first season was super impressive, especially the way they played.

Going by the past 30+ years of top-flight football, English managers are the worst thing you can do, if you want your club to be successful.

I thought he was on gardening leave. Does that mean when he starts a new job, then Qpr stop paying him 🤷‍♀️

Rufkin also thinks he's on gardening leave. Is hiring him to sort the pitch out. No idea who the manager will be.

If there's no context, then that's true. How many English managers actually get a chance at a big club where success is a near guarantee? Fact is, even most championship clubs are looking abroad for managers. I think that was justified at one stage but now it's more than they're never given the chance. People champion somebody who has done 1 good job overseas but the point is, English managers are never given the same opportunity here.

Potter at Chelsea.
Lampard at Chelsea.

Most players are foreign these days so that is probably why, I think the lower down the leagues you go the more British managers you will see.

On Board a bit more now. Worked his way up, started managing at 30/31, similar trajectory as Potter, done reasonably well at QPR. A bit worried how it ended there. Just hope we back him with a few signings.

QPR last season (from memory) started poorly, were in hot form maybe two thirds of the way through the season and then fell apart again?

They did start v slowly but QPR had really rotten luck with injuries last season.. Among others, Ilias Chair missed the best part of 20 league games (inc. the start of the season and that horrid run)..

Cifuentes streakiness concerns me a bit but I do think that broadly he's done pretty well with them and got them stable.. They were toast when Ainsworth was there..

He got a poor QPR to beat Leeds 4-0 in the last season. Bring him in

And lost 0-5 to Burnley at home and 0-4 to Boro at home

and shipped 6 against us.

A team that set prem records for being toothless

Do you actually want anyone? All I’ve seen is you moan about every name lol

Not exactly true, but can you blame me with the names we have been linked with?

I am just not easily taken with someone who has Managed so little so far and not proven much apart from surviving relegation in the Championship with a poor but not one of the three worst squads.

As with Rohl and as with my first post on Cifuentes, I said I will support him if and when he comes.

Is Ilias Chair out of contract now? He was good under Marti

Signed a new deal in January. Also, I thought he had issues with the law after an issue in France  which I don’t think got resolved.

** not sure what happened with this but he didn’t serve time yet?!

Ilias Chair, a professional footballer for Queens Park Rangers (QPR), and his brother Jaber, were recently sentenced in Belgium for assaulting a truck driver. The incident, which occurred in France in 2020, involved a physical altercation where the driver sustained a fractured skull after being struck with a rock. Ilias Chair received a one-year prison sentence with an additional 12 months suspended, and was also ordered to pay £13,400 in compensation.
